We have reached records flood level, worse that the flood of 1993,which they called the 100 year flood, and I am not 100. We are 10 feet above flood stage now. Homeland security is here, putting up the same kind of barriers on the river to protect us as the ones they used in Iraq! I got up early to watch the news. Most right on the river are smart enogh to leave there homes, some are stubburn, It is very sad. God Bless them. We live 5 blocks away, uphill. Levys are breaking, Great River Bridge has been closed down. We live one block south of hwy 34 ,it is closing on this part of Burlinton. My son's best freind treid in vain to get his mother to come stay with family or with us, he even called the police last night. They could not force her, they daid. They lost thie dog. He is upstairs sleeping. Poor guy did mot get much sleep. It is only getting worse, I am crying as I am writing this, so worried about my neighbors. I called his mother, the whole area 's levy just broke as I started writing this, she is not answering her cell phone. Heading down the street, going to get ahold of her brother ,who has no phone. God Bless us all.
