An area of Southern Minnesota just north of us got another 3 - 5 inches of rain last night.

This water will drain into the Winnebago River, which is expected to set yet another high water record in already flooded Mason City. The water is lapping at the sides of the road, or is already over the roads and bridges in many parts of the state.

Austin, Minnesota got inundated with rain last night. Bad for Austin, and worse for all the towns south of them, along the Cedar River, which is already flooded and casuing evacuations and loss of property in Charles City, Waverly, Cedar Falls, Waterloo, and soon, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

In St. Ansgar, we have been told not to flush our toilets or shower any more than necessary.

Our sewage facility is close to being flooded and any use could make sewage back up into our basements, which we don't want. With all the water coming down from Austin, it will get worse.

In Thompson, this is the view I woke up to.

The sky is still dark with storm clouds and we could have more rain and severe weather today and tonight.

Bad as this is for the Blue Belle in terms of business, there are thousands of people who are much worse off than we are. Many fields of corn and soybeans will not recover.

No water in Mason City; thousands displaced everywhere; boy scouts dead from a tornado hitting a boy scout camp in Liitle Souix, Iowa. It's heartbreaking.

More severe weather, and more rain is forecast for today. Please pray that the bad weather STOPS soon.

Thanks for your prayers and concern.

Glad that you don't have it any worst than you do...

Triple points has been extended through Friday!
I hope you stay safe and dry. Saying prayers and keeping fingers crossed.
As far as flushing the toilet, remember the old addage:
"If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down."
Some of the folks about 15 minutes away are already packing stuff up in boxes, in case they need to leave. There have been reports that it may be at flood stage by then.
I just want to say "God, yes we thank you for the rain, but that's enough now. You can move it somewhere else now."
I feel for those that lost homes in flooding or tornadoes.
I have but one question. When will it stop?
PLEASE stay safe. We have a river 2 miles away that's flooded at 26 feet and rising... thankfully the bridge is high, but it's over the banks.
We need prayers in the south for RAIN.....so strange how the weather is so different and so severe in different areas of the country!!
May God be with you and your family ....
be safe...
love you...

Mark and I have been being extra good all week so I don't have to feel guilty when my guests use more than their fair share this weekend.
We've been showering and washing clothes at my parent's house and the parsonage, where things are not so bad. We've had to take detours because the bridge on the main route between the Blue Belle and the parsonage is under water, but again, a minor inconvenience compared to what other further south are experiencing.
