Hip replacement!

Let the Republicans say what they want about the Canadian health care system......., it's still 100% better than what they have in the States right now!

(Something is better than nothing!)

I'm sitting in one of the exam rooms at University hospital waiting to see a long line of nurses, technicians, doctors, surgeons and God knows who else, to get ready for my hip replacement surgery in a couple of weeks.

I still think that I am far too young to have arthritis problems, but as far as my health goes, I have been lucky over the years and have not had many reasons to go to the hospital.

Then a few years ago my hips started to give me trouble and this slowly worsened until I am now a cripple who needs a walker to get around.

The doctors tell me that after the hip replacement I should be good as new, and I look forward to being an active adult again rather than a hobbled old man.

But! I can tell you for sure that no matter how it turns out, or how my health will be affected by the surgery, I don't have to worry about how to pay for the damned thing!

The financial burden is something I don't have to contend with, and this makes for one hell of a comforting thought when there is more than enough on my mind already.

So, my dear friends,whether it's a good system or not, it sure beats the hell out of no system at all.
