Although I am by nature a middle of the road to right wing person, I do admire many of the accomplishments brought about by the Left.
Then there are others that make absolutely no sense to me at all.
Vancouver is hosting the winter Olympics in about 6 months and people are already expecting a great increase in the amount of prostitution and other hobbies.
Now British Columbia is not only geographically on the left side of the country but it's polices are about as far left as ya can get!
Come to think about it, they have always been left brained...... meaning they're not in their right minds!
But enough about that, back to the hookers.
Some genius in the Socialist Government out there decided that the media will probably do some stories on the prostitutes hanging around in downtown Vancouver and has suggested that the government set up a department to give the girls some....... wait for this....... "Media Training!"
What they mean by this, is that if the girls are interviewed by the press as a human interest story, they will know how to put Vancouver and B.C. in the best light
That's right kids, these jerks want to train the girls in public relations and advertising.............. as if they didn't know all about that already!

Something about the Left Coast. Mayor Bradley, here in L.A. did the same thing for the '84 Summer olympics. Cleaned up the streets and gave the hookers new purpose!

The little Ol' church ladies began to notice that many young girls in their town, rather than attend school had begun hanging around street corners (I forget where, sorry ;0)
The church ladies, rather than fight to shut down the strip clubs and other prostitution modalities, offered free child care for the young ladies.
With the understanding and support of the church ladies, slowly some of the young ladies began asking for further assistance. Classes in basic life skills and group process began, and many of the ladies entered detox. Some then returned to finish high school, while others began attending trade schools.
Within a few years the proprietors of the strip clubs had fewer and fewer young ladies to exploit, thus prostitution was no longer an issue for the neighborhood.
In my understand this is the true church (whose denomination escapes my memory, as it was many years ago when I read the article)
Does it resonate, that "What you do for the lest of these"?
However, "Media Training!" is not helping the young ladies, it is encouraging bellicose behavior, and I am not a religious zealot, but rather am a communalist (no, not the naked guy in the hot tub, that just ain't my thing ;0)

I think prostitution should be legal myself.
