In a comment under one of my other posts about my second novel coming in January I mentioned that I was searching online for E. Annie Proulx in hopes of convincing her to read the ARC for Waltzing Cowboys and maybe even write a blurb for the back cover.
In my search, I read an interview with her in which she denied that Brokeback Mountain is about cowboys, but rather about two young men who spend a summer together herding sheep and grow so close they can't live without the other. Still, my novel is about a New York city legal aid attorney who leaves his pregnant wife at 39 and disappears into the hills of Montana, only to discover at 79 that he doesn't want to die without meeting his son. So . . . it seemed like a story she might enjoy. And I so admire her writing.
If anyone can suggest another way to contact her, I'd appreciate it.
