Here's a sneak preview of the cover, photo courtesy of publisher Cedar Creek, cowboy boot photo by E. McNeel. Anyone interested in her website, get in touch with me. She does lots of horse photos, hunt, etc.

Thanks all. I hope I never lose the thrill of seeing my work in print. Although I am hoping there will be dozens of books before I depart this world. The stories in my head are endless.

Between the image and the title, I am reminded of Brokeback Mountain.

That could be good or bad.

Well, I wish it were as good as Brokeback Mountain. What a story, and what a story teller. Annie Proulx is brilliant. When I read the story, long before the movie, I cried, then read it again immediately. Literally couldn't put the book down, even when I knew the ending to the story. So powerful.

I wrote to Annie Proulx's editor to see if they would forward an email to her from me. No reply as you might expect. But I found a Saratoga New York address for an E. Annie Proulx so I sent the publisher's brochure off to her with letter asking if she might read and advance review copy of my second novel and perhaps write a blurb. When you don't have an agent or big publisher's editor who can ask the other authors to write a blurb, you have to be bold. It takes me all day to work up my nerve to write that kind of letter, but she called me the next day on the phone.

Only one problem, she wasn't THE E. Annie Proulx, only someone with the same name. Was I embarrassed? She was very kind and offered to return the letter to me. Funny??
