Why I Created This Group

I only wish I could write a book. I have some good stories for a book but my eyes are not good enought to read books or write anymore. I am lucky I can see to type.

I'd like to read your craft's book. Any on audio??

No books here - at least none that are available to anyone but me hehehe.

I'm actually in the middle of writing a few of them. Nanowrimo is my reason for having so many that have yet to be finished. One day I'll finish them all up, though. They are all plotted so I can pick up where I left off. Thank goodness for plot outlines.

None on audio yet, Janet, but I might do that soon, if I can get someone else to do the audio for me. I don't know how the crafts book would do as an audio book, though. It's mostly recipes for making clay, bubble solution, silly putty, finger paints..stuff like that. You can download it at Lulu.com for just $2.50, though, and then you can make the print as big as you like on your computer!

I'm working on my memoirs, "Dead People Can't Rollerskate" coming out eventually in paperback.

Thanks for inviting me to join the group. My fourth novel and third co-written with my husband has just been released in hardback on June 1st. It is an international thriller called Rabbit in the Moon (see the cover). It is the story of strong-willed Dr. Lili Quan, first generation Chinese American and a medical resident whose life seems to be falling apart. She decides to leave her residency to study in China- ostensibly to satisfy her mother's dying wish. But she's been lured there - a pawn in a deadly international scheme as greedy and ambitious men vie for her grandfather's discovery- the secret to long life. Our book is set in China during the most tumultuous 7 weeks in recent history- from the rise of the student democracy movement in April to its fall at Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989.

Hi, Rhetta - This is a wonderful idea for a group and I'll try to participate once I get through deadlines. I have two due by the end of the month and just sold my children's book coming out in February next year, so now have to complete that as well...I LOVE having problems like this. Hiya Rhetta. I have written three, two are published and the third is in the process of being published. I write Fiction/Action Adventure. I also have a group here at Gather to help promote my work and the work of other Gather authors. That group is Rising Star Author group. It has always been a dream of mine to write a book. I am very self critical and always second guessing myself. I joined Gather so that I would start to write again. I have done that. One step at a time. Thanks for inviting me Rhetta. I hope that I can learn from all of the members here.

Great idea, Rhetta! I'd be interested to know what other writere/authors do to make a living and still find time to write. I'm a community college writing instructor, and it take up way too much of my time.
