Have you heard the story about the man who drowned in a vat of alcohol?
People tried to fish him out and save him, but he bravely fought them off!
That used to be a joke. But not any more. We see this in health care, where people struggle valiantly to keep from getting the health care they desperately need. And now we see it in education, where parents fight valiantly to keep their children from hearing a speech designed to encourage them to stay in school and get a good education.

I get this mental image of Obama trying to save a child in a burning building, only to be fought off by the fanatical parents.
They are so intent on destroying ANYTHING Obama may accomplish. That is more important to them than the overall welfare of the United States, or even their own welfare.
They have always promoted stupidity.
I can't think of a better way to start off the school year, than with a message from a man who walks the talk.
During this special address, the president will speak directly to the nation's children and youth about persisting and succeeding in school. The president will challenge students to work hard, set educational goals, and take responsibility for their learning.
That is exactly what Barack Obama did as a student, and look at him today. He has defied all odds. He dreamed the big dream, and he worked hard to achieve it. Good things happen to those who work hard.
We could not ask for a better example of how someone could come as a minority from a broken family and make it all the way to President of the United States. If he threw away his education, that would bever have happened.
