Upon hearing that Sara Palin was John McCain's choice for V.P., These Alaskan woman wanted to show their disgust. "Alaska Women Reject Palin" Rally Sun Sep 14, 2008 at 07:30:42 AM PDTWe begin in Anchorage, Alaska, where a group of average women decided to hold a small rally to let it be known that their Governor, Sarah Palin, does not represent their views on many of the issues that are important in their lives. They put together a press release and sent it to the Anchorage media outlets. A local right-wing talk show host broadcast the names and phone numbers of the two organizers over the air. They began receiving a series of harassing phone calls for the remainder of that afternoon. The leading TV station picked up the story on Thursday. Alaska Public Radio Network put up some audio. An anonymous caller contacted the local media on Friday afternoon and told them they were one of the organizers, and the rally had been cancelled. Someone even faxed forged a document saying the Secret Service had cancelled the permit for the rally, even though no permit is required. Some people were putting an awful lot of effort in to making sure no dissent would be heard from Alaska. It started out small. Then a few more showed up. Was this it? Nope - the rally gets bigger. Holy cow! Seriously. Wow! Probably the biggest protest rally in Alaska history.

I saw a story about a protest in Anchorage in the MSM this morning but I don't remember where.
I have never taken a penny from the government, I voted republican when I was ignorant and now that I have educated myself about our history, our constitution I cannot support a party that has always fallen short on its promises... and ridden by corruption....who spends our taxes for other countries and wasteful spending rather than fix the infrastructures and support better education....
Of COURSE not everyone in the state likes her. Want a rally to see if there are Illinoisans who don't like Obama? Or Arizonans who hate McCain? Or Delaware citizens against Biden? I'm sure there would be more than enough of those in EVERY case to make a very impressive rally.
What's your point?
Only Reverend Jim knows for sure.
But not big enough to attract media attention so people like Katie and the ignorant women she supports in the South can make an informed opinion? Sad.
Many people who initially had a positive opinion about her, when informed about her voting record, issues and beliefs, have reversed their 'approval'.
The fat lady has not even warmed up yet.
the Palin supporters may ignore or even be anaware of the damage such a choice could bring...yet there is the God they so often invoke that is above voting machine and desperate lies or women chanting...
If God wants to punish the nation as the religious people like to think most likely the gop will win.
But if blessing should come our way they will loose.
The only way to beat the gop is by using their own pit bulls.
Keep up the good work and nasty comments in regards to Honest Americans...you're driving them away in hordes.
Unfounded superiority does little to help the cause.
Another finacial company in distress should we save them and nationalize them?
Do you approve of bail out with your tax money?
Do you approve of torture?
Do you approve of invading Iraq and killing millions of their citizen?
Do you approve of Mccain voting against supplies to the soldiers including vest to protect them?
If you do than you are honestly not an american based on the constitution as written years ago.
As a citizen you have the obligation to learn what is best for your country not the party.
I can't believe anyone would say this but I'm glad your husband meant it in a negative way.
Still, with all the ridiculous hoopla she had stirred up in a couple of weeks, it is nothing like what Barack Obama has accomplished. THE WORLD has rallied around Barack Obama, and for all the right reasons. What's happening with her doesn't compare in the least.
"Kathy if you your were an honest americans you would not support your party but get educated in economics, history and foreign policy to understand the damage they have done." Mark-John: If you were intelligent, YOU would educate yourself.
"Another finacial company in distress should we save them and nationalize them? --NO!
Do you approve of bail out with your tax money?" --NO!
"Do you approve of torture?"--We don't "torture." Do YOU approve of beheadings?
"Do you approve of invading Iraq and killing millions of their citizen?" --Absolutely. We didn't do ENOUGH. We should have flattened the Middle-East.
"Do you approve of Mccain voting against supplies to the soldiers including vest to protect them?" --Liar. He didn't.
"If you do than you are honestly not an american based on the constitution as written years ago." --If you DON'T, you don't know what to say or do...thank goodness YOUR thinking isn't in the majority!
"As a citizen you have the obligation to learn what is best for your country not the party."--I DO...which is why I've said REPEATEDLY that I wouldn't let EITHER of these two charlatans run a Brassiere Boutique. Now that I ruminate on it, I wouldn't let YOU, either. Fool.
Walt Monegan was one of the finest, fairest public officials in Alaska. When it wasn't enough to fire him for not doing her bidding, Sarah has sent the DC cronies to smear him and ruin more lives. This may not be your state, but it's mine and I'm infuriated.
Read the Anchorage Daily News Mark-John,
The gop has been putting out a lot of crap on the democrats for years...I am learning to respond in kind...
The voting record is accurate, you can verify on line....I talk about what I know.
The money was to be appropriate from the reconstruction fund for Iraq...we know what happened to that money, and used to purchase equipment for the soldiers including vest and McCain voted no. We had private investors-profiteers, who bought vests for
700 dollars and sold them for 1500 dollars because the soldiers were willing to buy their own .
