It is disgusting. I have many friends from the south and agree with Angel and Wade, but in Rita's defense....she did say, "It's sad to be considered one of them because some of us are not. I would like to see change." and I took that to mean that she is from there and knows it isn't everyone, but is many. I lived in the south for several years and in the north for many more.....it is a slightly larger percentage of attitude in the south...doesn't mean the north doesn't have the same issues....it is all so stupid !!

Sadly I must ask, "You're suprised?" We've all seen this before, hate comes in a variety of colors and now more than one hate group has a target. Again sadly, nothing new is happening here.

I'm sure our President-elect was very much aware of this threat when he opted to run, which just makes "bravery" another on the long list of positive attributes attached to his character.

I'm not much caring about those who deny his worldwide appeal -- big deal, they are irrelevant, and out of touch. It is why they lost this election.

Obama has captured the hearts of the entire world.

Picture what would happen were -- God forbid -- something to happen to Barack Obama.

First off, forget that he is a Christian.
His father was a Muslim. I am told by Muslims that -- no matter WHAT Obama is (a Christian) -- they respect his lineage, because he is the son of a Muslim, and shall therefore always be a son the senior Obama. So then, someone has harmed the Muslim's son, his cherished son, and why?

Haven't many of the Internet email, and other voices spoken it loudly enough?
"Barack HUSSEIN Obama", and that is just one hateful indictment.
Other spewings of hate come out and say he is an Arab or a Muslim (as though there would be something wrong with it even if he were.) So then, retribution from the Muslim world for an injustice.

Then, there are African Americans -- do you really think the "Brothas" fear these White Supremacist groups, or that they do not also have weapons and/or means to obtain them? Think so? Then you are, indeed, blinder that I realized. I refer back to Newton's 3rd Law of Motion. Some seem to believe that, either they are the only ones with access to guns, OR

that guns shall protect them from an oncoming onslaught of fierce, massive retribution from massive groups of people bent on being avenged. Hmmmm. It shall not be just one group of people, though . . .

There are other groups who are tired of mistreatment -- Hispanics, the Hermanos love Obama as well -- oh yes! Ask Freddie Chavez (Si! se puede!)

Asians have formidable gangs; I would not mess with them, and there are parts of Chinatown where I would not venture; NO WAY! You really think they are happy with the actions of White Supremacist groups? Think again.

Let us not forget the Jewish people. I do NOT see them being in love with White Supremacist groups, either.

I'm just getting started. The Gay/Lesbian community here in the Bay Area is probably the most formidable of all the aforementioned; they do NOT play.

To be sure, I have not EVEN gotten started, yet. I do so hope it never comes to this.

The best thing for this Country is Law and Order, and for those who "think" (and I use that term loosely with respect to them), of taking the law into their own hands to go somewhere and get a grip, sit down, be quiet, and try -- as difficult as it might be -- to behave like responsible citizens.

Those who keep saying NOBAMA, NOBAMA. Hmmm.


These peddlers of hate who propose, and plan violence? They may open a Pandora's Box, that shall never, ever be shut, with no Obama to call for UNITY, peace, and order.

Why would African Americans fear the white supremisists when African Americans make up 13% of the population and are the victim of 50% of murders which happen to be commited by fellow blacks 95% of the time? Is it more dangerous to be a black in a white community or a white in a black community?

Uh, jeff I am not miserable. In fact I'm ecstatic that this country finally saw the light and elected a rational intelligent, thinking man for President of the United States... we finally have a leader we can be proud of!
I want to see this country return to it's position of respect and moral leadership in the global community, a position that we have lost due to Bush's "Bully Boy tactics" to coin a phrase used by Bishop and 1984 Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu of South Africa. He is just one of the many prominent world leaders and diplomats who's positive comments I have heard on the radio and read in the news since the election.

Jeff i had thought you were intelligent but now I think you live in some kind of isolation away from the rest of society. Jeff it has been in my lifetime that all this change has taken place. This Obama threat problem is a complex one that, in my view; breaks down into two distinct areas. (a) There are a few ignorant knuckle-draggers who see this as a vent for their bigotry, and -- more, ignorant mistakenly self-righteous fear driven sheep, who have swept Obama into the "Muslim" category with no understanding of what that means (other than the simplistic "terrorist" tag they hang on it, and -- (b) There is the thought that Obama can't survive either physically, or without compromising his stated ideology as an intention for "change(s)," because he is bucking the present system where big-money interests that thrived under the present corrupt administration could be compromised for the good of the people.

Moral of this story: If a candidate is a white male Christian who makes a big production of his patriotism and keeps the lobbyists, and money interests happy, he won't have to deal with these kinds of threats. Makes for a safer president, but not necessarily a very good one.

Carol I find it interesting that you imply me being unintelligent and a racist simply because I don't think my country is as despicable as you do. I know that there are racists and hate but YOU are the isolated one if you think it is only coming from white people. That said, every time I have met a geniune racist they are usually if not 100% of the time some of the most ignorant derelicts in society. Obama is an incredible human being and has a chance to be a great president for America as well as a first rate world leader. I wish everyone safety

I hope it won't happen, but I am convinced that someone's going to take a shot at him, bare minimum. I cannot stress how much I hope this doesn't happen, but it seems inevitable. This country is fortunate to be the home of many brave or otherwise first rate individuals. But despite the cheerleaders and feel-good dreamers who believe otherwise, this is a violent country filled with scores of ugly, psychotic people driven by hate.

The Secret Service does an admirable job and we owe them our gratitude. But anybody can get to -anybody- if they want them bad enough.

Let us hope that nothing of the sort occurs. As well, let us hope for the safety of both our President and Vice President, even if you didn't vote them.
