I have been molded by God. That is my blessing. I have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. That is another blessing. I am saved by His Grace. That is the primary blessing of all.
Obi-John, God has fforgiven me, family has forgiven me and my friends have forgiven me; why is it then (o master of zen) that sometimes the hardest forgiveness to accept is one's own.
When I doubt my worth--a trap I easily fall in to--I remember a scripture: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." (Psalm 139:14) Yes, I am a blessing. [Excellent thought. Exellent illustration. Thank you!]
"Every child is a unique and unrepeatable act of God." ~ Pope John Paul II
In regard to Robert's comment, I recently realized that to forgive everyone else for making mistakes, but not ourselves, is remarkably conceited. It's like saying "Other people can make mistakes, but not me." It's usually a case of feeling unworthy, but in truth, we are equal, we make mistakes, commit sins and all merit forgiveness. Let's love our neighbor as we love ourselves - not more, not less.
My blessing incurred by myself is that I spent 20 years trying to introduce learning and respect for self and others as a teacher. When I get down sometimes, hubby points out that I have no idea how much or how many lives I touched in that span of time and hopefully since I did not drink, smoke or present an unseemly example made mostly positive influencial changes to their lives. We all have things we regret doing but in the long run, I don't feel I have too many really idiotic things for which to account - I was a control freak but primarily about myself, not others, and I always tried to be honest and true to my rules. I do not forgive myself for things I do even if others do and that is a part of my curse but moving forward has always been something I strove to do. Watching the hoopla in Washington yesterday, I tried to see it from the perspective of all of the changes I have seen in my 57 years for whites, blacks, Americans, education and simply living our lives and it is a tremendous amount of "two steps forward, one step back" but we don't seem to be hesitating as much anymore and I hope that my generation is responsible for a good bit of that lack of hesitancy. We saw people killed and maimed for just wanting to be validated by voting and ownership and I hope that part of America is terminally ill and that acceptance is more rampant than pettiness. I hope my blessing is that I did more good than bad in the end and will not be remembered unkindly for pain or duress I might have caused.
My dear friend,,, this is cute,,, I must say,,,itt took me awhile but,,, I am so very grateful, I am who I am,,, I don't think we think about it much as young ones??? don't know,,, Christian Glitter by www.christianglitter.com
I might be reading too much into this but I'll give my opinion anyway. I think we all have a unique purpose here on this world and we are the sum total of the gifts or blessings if you will, needed to execute that plan.
You can't read too much into a Thought~Byte. They are intended to be mental catalysts. Whatever you read into it and take away for yourself, it what that Byte is for you at this point in time.
One of lifes absolutes!! I wonder about those really nasty folks out there, though. If they are blessed with who they are then I shudder to think what they would have done had they been cursed.

(hey, that's what the pic conjured up in my brain!)
Or am I alone in this conundrum..... ?
(Though many get a lot of mileage out of considering it a curse.)
The italics are the key there, Tanya.
Very clever, Tracy. Thanks.
Only the Shadow knows, D.B. :)
Now you know the question, Robert. (The hardest part.)
The answer that will work is the one you come up with yourself (the easiest part.)

cute pic and great thought
Then you are, Dawn.
And, for that, Linda, we need to learn to talk with ourselves.
OK, Lee. See you at the next Byte.
Excellent quote and excellent comment, Jan.
Thanks.
I don't think so, Regina.
Donna, your blessing is who you are now. Don't waste any energy on who you were.
"I do not forgive myself for things I do even if others do and that is a part of my curse"
.. and a good excuse for not lifting it.
Dropping a self-imposed curse is easy: YOU wave good-bye.
Thanks, John, but that wasn't me. Donna is very good at introspection.
Thanks, Karen, That is another facet to this Byte.
Being what you are is what will be a major blessing to others.
Now, food, that's different :)
Isn't it amazing how sharing yourself augments rather than diminishes you?
To Nora: If only that were still true.
It's simply accepting yourself. Might as well, there's no one else applying for the job of You.
In France, everyone thinks my first name is Jean-Philippe. WHo am I to disabuse them of that notion :)
Hah!
Te he!
The rest of them are "TOI." Not the same.

"I am what I am, and blessed to be
an entity unique only to me.
I am what I am, and what I am not
I will not lament, for I have what I've got.
I am what I am, I hope you accept
and appreciate that at which I am adept.
I am what I am, and hope you won't fight
to change me to be your idea of what's right."
Impromptu, just for you. Hope ya like it!
: )
Thanks.

Rest easy
That choice is harder for some than others. Plenty of "If it weren't for ...., I'd ...." going on.
