For those who haven't read these:
An article I wrote saying Goodbye to Phil
A Life I'd Jump at
And the final The San Francisco Chronicle article (Tuesday 1/1/08) about their long time cartoonist.
Bidding final farewell to cartoonist Phil Frank
That's what Bytes are all about, Jan.
Some linguists and enlightened masters say the word "Repent" (and you shall enter the kingdom of heaven) can also be translated as "Return" (to the God in you).
Of course, the former is much easier to build a religion around :)
Bet your dreams will be different this time around, Jules.
Try not switching. Let the dream happen on its own.
My real struggle is that I'm forgetting how to do 'moments'.
I laugh a lot in my dreams and, also, am sometimes told that in the morning.
You might also say they "materialize in the whirlwind that is reality."
Don't "do" moments, just let them happen — then there is no struggle.
Good advice, but what if by 'letting them happen' I end up with pie on my facE? And it's sure to be a flavor I don't like. But I will try the advice.
Patricia ...
Not so good if you're snoring.
Especially the second one every week.
but, wait, here's another!
You can enjoy dreaming about a dream, but once it happens you lose the feeling of striving so hard to gain it.
(No one said these were easy. Otherwise you'd just have to swallow instead of byte :)
And, you can have some control over dreams (Google "lucid dreaming" for information/books on this)
And, what about the "moment?"
Thanks for the quote. I'll ponder on that one.
Thanks for the reminder, John, and have a great afternoon.
We're alike in one thing, John: I too, am awakened laughing about something goofy in my dreams. I've done this since I was a child.
I must have been giggling for awhile, because I would often find my mother standing at my bedroom door, smiling down at me when I awoke, wanting to know what I was dreaming about to cause me to laugh so.
I don't want to get too philosophical here, but each person may have the best of both possible worlds; it's easy, and depends on your own perspective.
