Is he seeing the real "him" in the mirror in his own eyes OR is he seeing what he longs to become? Have we really come down from the trees at all, other than to fight and destroy the things around us? Sorry, a gloomy moody night for me and I see only dark things on nights like this.
I THINK I GOT IT! If as a people we let others, our society, work, need for approval direct our thinking and belief system we are heading down in our ability to think.
So happy Mr. Frank put a man looking into the mirror. Of course now I have to say that men will be men, no matter how educated they are - sexist I know, but in most cases sadly true. <<>>
Thanks for posting this to Best Original Photos, Art and Writing for 2008.
Oh my ... this is a tough one, John, at least for me! I do see a similar face when I look in the mirror, though ... has more to do with aging than evolution.
Well,Duh! If you know everything then it follows that you can no longer evolve into something better, you are at the pinnacle. I think a guru lives there now. I'm on my way as soon as I find a pair of socks that match.
Marianne, "'Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up' " is an excellent observation.
(Don't confuse the scientific definition of "theory" with our everyday use of the term. There is proof of evolution though that isn't at all inconsistent with any concept of God.)
Faith is a concept like "Knowing:" ( see my comment to Shannon, just above)
I agree with that...er...sometimes. Depends on what sort of knowledge you're looking at. The so-called "educated" leaders are usually the dumbest of all. ;)
He, he. Overthinking things definatley sets you back. Our women brains get us to see the whole picture and have a hard time prioritizing each side screaming that your a bad person if you don't think their angle is the most important. Knowing other perspectives makes you freeze up, it can also widens your horizons to be a better person.
I'm enjoying your perspectives here. - Lol - knowing doesn't equal wisdom makes me think of Kindergarten. I thought I was brilliant and didn't need school any more once I learned to read and write. I guess the cusp of knowledge gives you the neanderthal effect until you learn a smidge more, enough to know how vast the area is of things that you don't know, and the evolution continues.
Cool one - thanks for the brain exercise this morning ;)
I feel stupid for not getting the joke, but I don't believe in Darwin's theory, I believe in God, so maybe that is hindering me. But that's okay. I'm happy right where I am.
This is directly related to thought byte 92. I think the term that covers all of this is called "thought paralysis." When someone takes on a subject, perhaps too big, and can't get past the planning stage. At some point the only way to finish is to get your hands dirty.

Thanks.
What you say is true and, for me, the message here is different.
I warned you this one isn't so easy to wrap our minds around — that's what makes it interesting (at least to me).
My lawyers will be in touch. Ha! Ha!
I can relate!
" I hurt my widdle head! I hurt my widdle head! "
Very thought provoking, John.
Philosophy and Logic sometimes
make strange bedfellows ...

. . . PERSPECTIVE
The illusion of Light: there is Life.
The illusion of Dark: there is Death.
The illusion of Tomorrow: is More.
Clearly ALL Reality: is Illusion!

Rest easy
Wade, I tried to warn you.
Put your head in a bucket of hot water and call the doctor in the morning.
The way to deal with Thought~Bytes is to say, "Hmmm, what does this mean to me in my life right now?"
Thinking about that often brings a new/different insight and that's all we're after.
If nothing occurs, take another look next week — or not.
The right answer is always your answer.
Interesting point, Jerri. And, don't forget the "knowledge" part.
Good news, Donna. It's not the gloomy, moody thought you had.
Maybe there is no need to evolve. Certainly not today. :)
Good for you, Cranky-Pants.
In that case, it's working for you and I'd advise not telling us on the off chance you might have not gotten it and then you wouldn't have it anymore.
You pick: mother's or father's side.
And then think of other ways it might also make sense to you.
All Thought~Bytes are multi-faceted.
That may be true, Shannon, depending on how you define evolve.
Maybe it would help if I asked you to think about the difference between Knowledge and Knowing.
A clever way to look at this, Jean. You've found yet another facet to this drawing. Thanks.

Very funny, Shiela. I tried to warn you.
My first reaction is Philosophy and Logic alwaysmake strange bedfellows
(Incidentally, with Thought~Bytes, as with everything else, there is no "It.")
Like most questions in life, it has no bearing on anything else and is used to keep us from just Being Here.
(It would have looked so gross to have a hairy-faced woman looking back though, don'tch'a think?)
An interesting comment, Poddar.
I don't know. I think you have a lot of competition for that title.
We might add to that "over-thinking."

That statement is definitely key to this one, Sammie.
Second, this doesn't have much to do with biological evolution which, in my mind, is not inconsistent with believing in God.
Third, there is no joke here. Thought~Byte drawings are used to make a sometimes heavy statement lighter.
HMMMMM! Would be a possible second response.
I think the term that covers all of this is called "thought paralysis."
When someone takes on a subject, perhaps too big, and can't get past the planning stage. At some point the only way to finish is to get your hands dirty.
I prefer the term "thought catalyst."
Your last sentence is definitely true.
Thanks.
(Though the picture by itself is pretty funny. No?)
