My wife use to have a Honey Do list years ago that she left on the refrigerator door. Some stayed on there quite a while. One day I went to check the list and it was gone... That was not good! Its funny how you can look at something everyday and then when its gone you can't remember what it was...DANG! I can definetely relate to this guy!
this is true, that's why I'm like Calvin.....he has so many things to do, he'll never die.....there's always too much to do in my life for me to finish
My hubby whom I love to distraction is a list-maker and he decides based upon his completion percentage how the day was - I am not a list-maker and I gauge the day in a different way and sometimes he is sad because he did not accomplish what his list contained but he had a lovely nap or WE had a lovely nap or watched a movie we did not have on his list. I prefer letting the day help plan itself and not restricting it to my schedule - sure, I do appointments but those are a necessary evil but time together is so nice when it is not regimented or scheduled.
I make all kinds of lists but forget to look at them or where I put them. One way or another, everything that's really important ends up getting done sooner or later...lol!
Some days I have to make a list for myself of what I need to do or what bill to pay- otherwise I might mess up. When I am feeling good I usually can remember stuff.
Or gives into impulses to simply enjoy the moment since we have so many of our "supposed to do" things on automatic pilot thanks to computer options. Hence, the relatively small money we see from paychecks monthly. But it is better than having to remember to do that stuff the old-fashioned way and have a "to do" list.
My "to dos" get automatically done except for deadlines. I have to remember those and actually write about something, usually on topic.
I wake up every morning thinking what I have to do today, and I go to bed everynight thinking what I have to do the next day. I wish I could stop, but it's one of my obsessive little traits.
I have a saying, "Five years from now will you remember what you did or will it make a difference? On my list now is to take time for me so I can stay centered.
Hey John, I am Supposed to do stuff every day but, what I want to do is write every day. I'm not making any fans here with my home team... maybe I'll go buy a rally monkey!
We used to have a list but it didn't work. Now I am just reminded every day of what new needs to be done. I have found I get more done when it is verbally brought to my attention than with a list.....and finally, if I don't want to do it, it will eventually get done, but only after she stands upon my head and shoulders amplifying her demands (flash backs of boot camp long ago) into my deafened ears.
:) That will be me - when I'm done with one thing, and have some extra time, there's always at least one more thing that I've been waiting for extra time to do.
Oh Lord, don't I know that. I used to make lists I could never complete and that always carried over from day to day. Now I try to make short lists knowing that other things will also need to get done of necessity and I'll be lucky to make the short list! Less stress is best is my motto.
When I find myself nearing the end of a "to do" list, I tend to find another thing or two to add to it before the last comes up. I'm sure that says something about my nature, I am just not sure what.
Once I finished my to-do list but since I've added your thought bytes to it, I never get it done. You're stretching my feeble brain cells every week and I'm not taking it anymore.
Lists are great to have so long as they don't get in the way of living life. You should be able to put them away and do something with your friends, family, or with yourself in some down time.

Tanya, the best idea so far.
Shirley, you may have discovered the secret of immortality. It's either that or eat a clove of garlic every night to ward off the Angel of Death.
That is a great line, Jan.
When would you have time to write one up?
However, if I were your husband, I'd worry every time you start with "My hubby whom I love to distraction ..." :)
I always forgot about them.
Or, Jennifer, there are more items than time.
Heaven bless that day, Jo.
I notice you and I refer to these lists as "To Do" lists while many today refer to them as "Do" lists.
There's a message in there -- maybe several.
My work here is done.
Great line, Marilyn.
And it's early here as well (maybe earlier?)
Have a great day.
You can take that several ways, both of which probably apply.
Rest easy
