I recently spent some time looking up convention dates for the Winter/Spring of 2009. I'd love to hear if anyone else is planning to go to any of these events. Here's my list. I'm listing each con as "attending" or "maybe". Cons listed as "attending" come with 2009's standard "if we're not in China" disclaimer.
January 16-19: Arisia, Cambridge MA. (Maybe).
February 6-8: New York Comic Con. New York NY. (Attending; will be working the Comic Book Artists Guild table).
February 13-16: Boskone. Boston MA. (Maybe).
February 19-22: Dreamation. Morristown NJ. (Maybe).
February 20-22: Wicked Faire. Whippany NJ. (Maybe).
April 18-19: SPACE. Columbus OH. (Attending, we'll have a dealer table at this event).
May 1-3: Mepacon. Scranton PA. (Maybe).
May 22-24: Anime Boston. Boston MA. (Maybe).
June 24-28: Origins Game Fair. Columbus OH. (Attending; I'll be volunteering in the Kids Program).

I would love to meet George RR Martin someday, however. Maybe he could sign all my books ;)
George R.R. Martin was a guest at Boskone two years ago. He did a reading that was really amazing to hear. Definitely a highlight of that convention for me.
There are lots of great geeky events on the west coast. Google Baycon, Dundracon, San Diego Comicon, and Norwescon for some of the events that my west coast friends enjoy. Unfortunately, a trip out west is probably not in the works for me in '09, so I stuck with stuff closer to home in my post.
GenCon is a great show for anyone up for traveling to the midwest.
