I finally got around to spending my Borders card...

or at least most of it. I got five books for me Janet Fitch's second novel andBest American Short Stories and Contemporary Fiction( with duplicates  for the prof whose class I'm sitting in on) and a pencil carrier for my daughter. I still have six bucks left and I'm oh so close to another $50 card--though it'll probably be Target this time.

Yay for Gather and my Gather friends!

My whole reason for participating on gather is to get Borders gift cards. As soon as I have 625 points, I order a $10 gift card.

If it weren't for the Borders gift cards, I'd never be able to get books as soon as they come out. I normally get books at used book sales, and those are all books that have been out for some time. But when a favorite author comes out with a new book, I want it right away.

With a 40-percent-off discount plus my Borders gift card, I can get a new hard cover book for $5.

I tried to open a paypal account and transfer my gather points to it, but it did not seem to work ... has anyone ever done this ... did I do something wrong? First time, somehow I never thought this was real ... its pretty cool.

It is so much fun choosing books with a gift card! My son sent me a gift card for Amazon for my birthday. The only thing that makes it difficult for me is that I don't know how to order large print books from Amazon or Alibris. I just about have to have large print any more, and so many political books I would like to read don't come in large print.
