The Crockets' Home - 100 WORD STORIES WEEK 21 - CHALLENGE

The  Crockets'  lived on Myrtle Avenue. They had a wonderful house with four bedrooms, two baths, and a grand master suite. There was a swimming pool outside.

A few years ago the Crockets' got sick with a nasty flu and was bed ridden for awhile. As they where bed ridden the house got older and older, and the crockets' grew older and older. The back, and front yard covered themselves with debris. The entire house got chocked with weeds.

Eventually the Crockets' where moved into a Nursing home to be cared for, and The house was left abandoned.

Sort of sounds like my grandparent's house. It's starting to fall apart since my grandmother passed away 6 years ago (my grandfather died in 1990) and I am hoping that my cousins all go in and take the belongings out before it falls.

Sad story. And all too often a true one. All of the things a person cherishes over a lifetime are many times left to go to ruin, because no one is there to care any more.

sorry to be a bummer but i just was not into writting a scary story. Plus it reminded me of Mrs. Smally's house. Her and her husband where great in the community till they got old and could not afford for a gardner or anyone to come and help them with the yard work. they just could not keep up with the work. so the house looked old and decribed on the outside and in the inside nice and neat and orderly. they where a good bunch of people.

My grandparents were moved to one of my uncles land into a trailer. Both ended up in nursing homes in the end.
Their house also fell apart that way. I used to hate to drive by. I was glad when it was torn down for a shopping center. At least I didn't have to see it anymore.

Pssst. Incidentally, the Crockets' got sick and 'was' bedridden should likely be 'were' bedridden. ;)
