I need your help. Are some page views worth more points than others? One of the members did 50 page views for me and I ended up with 8 points. Clearly, I am not going to reach 3000 until I figure out what I'm doing wrong. I can't spend more hours on Gather, as I'm falling asleep in my chair every night. My back is hurting, so if somebody knows the magic answer post or e-mail me.
I do realize they don't want everyone to be on the cash option, but I feel that I'm working quite hard at this task. Thanks for any help members can give me. I have been on Gather since 2006, so I'm not a new member. I feel like it should be possible when you have been here a long time.

What kind of videos are people posting?
So far people keep telling me its page views, but I'm discovering more points when people give me stars. I have been giving people stars every time they leave me stars.
Martina If you make 3000 points in one month, then Gather offers you the cash option.
To watch videos look up to the top of your screen and click on videos. I have been watching them for hours at night.
I wish you luck!
I view a lot of work done by others and have done so for many hours at a time. If there are no new discussions posted by me ended up with 10 points in an hour, so now am trying to come up with some kind of discussions each day to gain stars.
I don't know the answer, but at 10 points an hour for this last hour I'm not doing this to my friend list again, as have posted on topics that I normally wouldn't even read.
I am ready to just get another part time job and reduce my friend list and the endless pages of groups I have joined to just the ones I'm really interested in posting.
I joined to meet people learn about books, as love to read and now will no longer post a review about any book after 2 people on my friend list gave me a 7 on a book I had read.
Thanks everyone I will keep working on the 3000 until the end of the month and we will just have to see if I make more points in these last days of the month.
In the past, viewing the content of others would earn you more points than the same number of unique views on your content. You would also earn more points viewing videos than you would viewing articles.
At least this is how it appeared a few months ago. Today it may be more equal.
FYI, rating content or having your content rated does not earn points.
Are you absolutely sure about this, Kevin? I have noticed in the past that content of mine that was rated, whether a one or a ten, had always caused my points to jump. I haven't isolated it in quite awhile so I'm not sure if it does now, but it certainly appeared to work that way the last time I did.
Like I said my husband never posted, commented or rated and he was earning many points just by viewing. Also Tom G was the one who said it was not commenting and rating that is was the page views. If anyone knows it would be the CEO and founder.
You replied, "That could be because of the other activity..." It might be that you may have missed something that Tom G said too.
I have been on the board almost all day and earned 49 points and this article has 41 views, so if we agree with Kevin, then I earned about 7 points on this article. I earned 42 points posting, which is 7 points an hour. That is really bad!
I think its clear that some people are getting more points posting than others and page views aren't the same for everyone.
It looks like the only way for me to make points is post discussions no matter how bad the topic. It didn't take me an hour to post this discussion.

Sorry I think I confused you. I did not mean your activity. I meant everyone elses activity. Meanng those who were viewing your articles etc....
I'll see if I can find the article but it was so long ago I don't remember whihc article it was in. If I find it I'll post a link for you.
I will start back to my part time job at the school and home schooling my daughters in less than a month so I will lose MANY internet hours per day from then on out.
I'm new -- totally new -- so take what I say with a grain of salt -- I never looked at the videos before today, but today I looked at a few, and I can say that I got more points today than any other day.
