Calendar
A few more steps towards back
where he came from
where still a delicate hand is
waiting untouched
because he had not been wise in the past.
He smiled at the calendar.
The pin up girl
on the glossy heart of dates smiles back.
Winks even.
He murmurs, “Perhaps now I should take my evening pill.”
But remains there, still.

Inspirations of life
“Everything is in order.”
My life speaks in my ear
lest I forget and dream up
that I am riding a naked black mare.
The front side of this building
is blocked by another one.
Morning still comes;
calls me to join it
in the local park
where my life is already
feeding the birds
with inspirations.

Wonderful write, Poddar!
Now was that evening pill a blue one?
very nice
beautifully visual~
Thank you for posting to GutterGirls~
inspirations are necesasary. Otherwise we are dull and will become insane!
I particularly like the second one, Poddar.
Hope you had a good trip.
I adore the line "dream up." Welcome back, you were missed. Thank you for posting to our group.
Thanks Jenni
A thoughtful way to begin my day. Thanks. I hope your batteries are recharged now.

Both are very good, 'Calendar' really struck to the core, though. I've been where that first stanza is coming from.
Have we not coming from that stanza, each one of us? Thanks my friend.
Good job as always Poddar. I enjoy your writing.
I like how your poems both presented that thin veil between a fantasized passion shared, a lucid dreamscape, and facing the real deal...
"in the local park
where my life is already
feeding the birds
with inspirations."
The feeding is mutually shared here. Thanks for posting to The Surreal Circus.
Interesting imagery, Kushal.
Loved them both, especially the second one! :-)
Blessings and best wishes - S.
The first one: We all have our "what if's" and "might have been's"...but life goes on, bringing new surprises. The bittersweet feelings are well-portrayed.
The second: a re-post--good poem, but are you feeding the birds with inspiration, or they you? Perhaps both. Each stanza could be a poem in itself! I especially like the first--it surprises.
Nice.
it's great friend...keep it up.
We all can be an inspiration. Great poems
Very inspirational. Profound write.
Very good indeed, 'life's whispers' - great metaphores Poddar, thanks so much.
What ever serves as your inspiration also serves us, your readers. Two for the price of one, how grand.
beautiful!
Isn't it life for everybody after a time? Thanks Nathan.
thanks!
Thanks.
a naked black mare? I had a black stallion, he was dressed! LOL Good writing Poddar
Good writing Poddar always keeps up man, thank you for sheering
Blessings
Poddar - I like how you have made your poems quieter. Now you use your mastery of images sparingly but with just the right dose. The poems are more intimate, less flash and more internally compelling. I always love your stuff poddar - but i especially like seeing you try out different voices and work on different ways of touching the reader.
I read these two and thought maybe you have been spying on me - old man staring at a girly calendar - feeding birds imagination - yup that is my life.
Wow... awesome writing Poddar, as usual. :)
very nice
Beautiful imagery
more great ones!
Haunting.
