Where do McCain & Obama Stand on Literary Issues?

"With soaring oil prices, the war in Iraq, debates over the world climate, and healthcare concerns, education and literacy have taken a backseat in the 2008 presidential election. Much is at stake this presidential election; according to Education Portal, 42 million American adults cannot read, and 50 million Americans are at a 4th or 5th grade reading level. The number of illiterate Americans increases by 2.25 million each year. These startling statistics beg the question: Where do the 2008 presidential candidates stand on education and literacy programs?"

No Child Left Behind is another boondogle by the Bush admininstration, invented because Neil Bush, the same Neil Bush who brought you the Silverado scandal, needed a high paying job. The standardized testing industry went from a few million dollar a year industry to a few BILLION dollar a year industry under the Bush administration.

McCain doesn't get it, but that's not a surprise.

Our school system is at fault for allowing illiterate students to graduate. You can't lower the level of education because some of the students can't keep up. It just makes all of them dumb.
