Yes, I was compared to a rose when I was in jr. high or high school by my friends because I was sweet. But, please remember a rose also has thorns, as I reminded my friends then.
Usally, the saying is, "Don't hog the glory", but I think it is appropiate to say, "Don't hoard the glory." when someone never gives anyone else the credit for their part.

Hi Yvonne ~ Thanks for the reminder about the "thorns" ~ L O L. I thought you meant don't hoard the "GLORY" when it comes to GOD. As in ~ "Give GOD the GLORY!" . . .

As GOD SEES ALL, and nothing goes unrecorded ~ even every idle word must be accounted for. Therefore, Our ACTS must be all the more carefully watched (with responsibility in place).

How are you doing in terms of your treatment? Have you written anything here in Gatherland about it? I have relatives who have come through breast cancer...each of them. And, they definitely would agree with what you've just said.

I've had a mastectomy and am still getting tests to see if the "spots" are cancer and the cancer has metastasized. Then, depending on the results of the tests, I'll get chemo. The results of the tests will determined the coctail, or mix of drugs. I don't feel tip top. I just write in the comments when I'm in the mood. I do keep up my spirits with the help of my faith, family and friends.

Hi Yvonne ~ Thank you for coming back to let us know to keep you lifted up in PRAYER. I'm so glad to hear that you are keeping your spirit lifted through faith, family and friends. It really makes a HUGE difference. I have one friend, and one family member going through chemo. Both are always so upbeat! When they both speak, they sound so STRONG in spirit, and I am amazed by the way they are handling what they are going through. They both have a very good sense of HUMOR, and I do believe that that is a factor that also helps a lot. They laugh a lot, and smile a lot. Even when they feel really bad they still make jokes about it, and manage to smile.

I'm praying that your tests will go WELL Yvonne. You are such a doll, and I am so glad to have you for a friend. WE ALL care about you very much you know ~ l o l.

Well now Robert ~ Our 3rd CHALLENGE on the topic of "Cut the CRAP!" ~ as well as ALL of our other creations are UNIQUE and DISTINCT in that they are all of the Snippets Crew IDIOMS ~ You know that an idiom is specialized vocabulary used by a Group of people ~ such as ourselves ~ ... WE share a "30" words or less language all our own!

WE WROTE the Book of Idioms ~ ahahahh!

It's Our Snippets jargon that inspires the WRITER in each of us, and YOU my friend, are no exception ~ L O L.

I read this earlier but had to find a certain verse before responding.
Prov 3:27 "Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it."

Actually, God pointed this out to me when He was teaching me to love my enemy; making it clear that I should credit her with the good things about herself. He taught me to talk nice about her behind her back :)
But it goes even better with this poem; almost using your very words. The poem is so fun to read ... the truth so important to grasp.

Hi Glome ~ Such a great Scripture to bring the point of this Snippet across!

So often, people are so nice to others ~ i.e., being helpful, promoting, inspiring, working hard to make another look good, only to be bad-mouthed or at worst ignored totally for all that they have done to assist the person. And, in some cases, people even stoop so low as to take the ideas and creations of another person and claim them as their own without giving any credit to the person who actually came up with the idea or creation. This is what this Snippet speaks of.

I think that "enemies" are sometimes created by jealous and envious thoughts, as well as "misunderstandings". I also think that the worst thing a person can do is mistake a "friend" for an "enemy". How sad is that.

Hurting people by being "selfish" is not even recognized by the "selfish ones", because they are far too selfish to ever open their eyes to the emotions or feelings of others -- just themselves. Caught up in their own little worlds, no one else matters to them.

When everyone is gone, the music stops playing, and the stillness sets in...

WE must remember to give God the GLORY!

Oh rene, I hope you didn't think I was correcting you about loving your enemy. I was just rambling on and on as usual :) I understood the truth your were saying and was agreeing with you. To take credit rather than give proper credit is the opposite of what the verse teaches.
But then you probably know that ... I just wanted to make sure
