This spring and summer, I have gotten int growing flowers. It looks like they are actually growing well. On my balcony my boyfriend got a flower box and four bulbs to plant in them.I planted them and they are doing ok so far. I went out to water them a few days ago and I discovered these
.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Two eggs in my flower box. I just stood there for a moment then went and got my camera. A little while later the mother bird showed up and
sat down on the eggs. My boyfriend said it was a Dove. I don't know how well my flowers will grow, but it really doesn't matter. I will keep you up to date on my new guest.

This is definitely a big surprise
Ooh! And yes, looks like a mourning dove, I think. It will be awesome when they hatch!
Yes it is a dove all right. I have a pair of doves build a nest abobe my pergola back in the corner under the overhang, every year. They are very messy and thank heavens don't stay long. I don't mind their nest but it is a mess to clean up under. I found a couple of years ago that if I left the nest there from year to year they didn't make as much of a mess in the spring.
that is sooo cool!!
I always wanted to have a flower box. I'm just not sure where to put it. I have a window in my bedroom with a ledge, but that is it. I have a patio door, but you open it and there is nothing but a waist length bar so one does not fall over. There is no patio. And my kitchen doesn't have a window.
