I signed off of Gather to go work in my backyard to catch up on some of my yard work because of all the rain. I've decided that I can't take the chance to step on any of the little toads that are making their escape from the area around our koi pond to find a new home. There is no place to step in the yard without stepping on one of these little guys. Bugs beware, natures insect repellant is on the prowl, lol.

Just to give you an idea of how small they really are this is what they look like in my daughters hand.

Between the birds and the frogs I should not need any chemicals in my yard to get rid of bugs. Yay!

Adding the 'for scale' pic of a frog in your daughter's hand was a good idea. I remember when I was about 7-8 we used to go swimming in the 'crick'. Nowadays it's called the Neshaminy River in Pa. Back then there was a place to get into the river that was just like a bit of beach on both sides of the 'crick', surrounded by scrub, and on that beach at a certain time of the spring/summer it was frog hatching time. We'd spend half our time swimming and the other half peering at and trying to catch those little frogs.
It is really special to see hundreds of these hopping around in all of their cuteness, awww!
