My Amazing Hibiscus are still blooming

I know you are all probably tired of flower photo essays. After all, we are in the middle of October. 

BUT, this is my first hibiscus tree. As you may recall, I rescued it from the clearance shelf at Home Depot (using my Gather gift card!) And the blooms keep coming. I am amazed. I just hope it will continue when I bring it indoors soon. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Gorgeous, Carol! I love hibiscus, but have never tried growing them. I don't have much of a green thumb...lol

Cheryl, I never have grown anything. But this year I have tried several different plants and have been lucky. All I have done is watered this one and it is still blooming!

You'll find that the secret to having a "green thumb" is simply a matter of TIME and how much you can devote to your plants... Many of us find that, after we get older and our work schedules slow down or stop that we "magically" are able to grow things we've never been able to before... I noticed it first when I'd been laid off of a high-pressure job I'd been employed at for a decade or so... In the mornings, I'd take my cup of coffee with me and walk around my yard -- looking at each plant and flower, encouraging it, seeing if it needed anything, picking little critters off of it... lol... And (really not so) suddenly, all of my flowers were blooming and all of my plants looked so healthy! I realized that the only thing that was different was the time that I had to devote to it...

Jean, You are exactly right. Since I am home all the time now, I can baby my plants. Makes all the difference. They need love and attention too!

They are such wonderful, showy flowers. I hope it comes back for you next year - it should. If you have it in a pot then bring it indoors (even a garage).
