Here are some interesting facts about llamas.
Llamas are very intelligent and easy to train. These animals are very social and need the companionship of other llamas. Their calm nature make it easy for anyone, including children, to handle.
Llamas have a three-compartment stomach and chew their cud like cows and sheep.
Llamas are communal dung heap users--they all use the same manure pile.
Llamas do not have heat cycles but are induced ovulators; they can be bred at any time of the year. Average gestation is 350 days.
Llamas spit to maintain their pecking order in the herd, to protect the best eating spot, or to reject advances from an amorous male. Rarely will they spit at a human.
Llamas generally make three noises: a hum (called praying in Peru), a shrill alarm whinny (a warning of predators), and orgling (a gargle which males make when mating).
There are over 100,000 llamas in the United States and Canada.

have a nice weekend... Blessings to you and yours...
I'll never forget THAT llama memory. They've always seemed like pretty friendly critters. Didn't realize they needed to be kept with a pal, though. :-)
