I was roaming around in Gather at 5 am PST. Not quite awake yet... having my coffee and catching up on articles I have missed.
I always try to think of something intelligent to contribute in the comments section although what I have to say comes off generic most times and not just at 5 am.
One of the articles I read talked about flying and strength.
Since I wanted something more to say than just "Good Job!" I searched the internet for quotes on "flying" and "flight" and stumbled across Kahlil Gibran.
Now I know who Kahlil Gibran is... sort of... I know he wrote a book of verse called the "The Prophet." I may have read snippets of the book in different forums at different times. I read the following piece outloud in the darkened silence of 5 am PST. I am going to buy the book today.
As far as a comment on the other article... Hmm, I think I will say "Thank you for helping me find something beautiful."
I love new discoveries, don't you?
"All these things have you said of beauty.
Yet in truth you spoke not of her but of needs unsatisfied,
And beauty is not a need but an ecstasy.
It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth,
But rather a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted.
It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear,
But rather an image you see though you close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears.
It is not the sap within the furrowed bark, nor a wing attached to a claw,
But rather a garden forever in bloom and a flock of angels forever in flight.
People of Orphalese, beauty is life when life unveils her holy face.
But you are life and you are the veil.
Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
But you are eternity and you are the mirror."

I used to love The Prophet but can't remember the last time I held it in my hands. I think I will have to do that again one of these days.
I am not really sure what to say, this is really beautiful. I am glad you discovered it. Thank you so much for your friendship, you have really been a big help in my life. It gets easier everyday. I keep reading that poem over and over again, each time it brings new tears to my eyes, but i keep reading it (even though I am at work). I am glad you found it! Love ya!-Holli
