I'll admit that I've always thought scales were EVIL! Even if I worked hard and put out my best effort, the number on the scale doesn't always reflect that. At one point during me weight loss journey, I was literally addicted to the scale! I was weighing myself everytime I went past it, sometimes making a special trip. I was weighing myself so ofen (10 - 15 times a day) that I was obsessed and driving myself crazy!
Now, I have changed the relationship I have with my scale. I weigh myself first thing Friday mornings and that seems to work best for ME! I'm no longer obsessed with the number on the scale. How I feel about myself and how my clothes fit means more to me now than any number on that scale!
Mariana T. told me to give my scale a name - that's right - name my scale. She said... "It will brighten her mood and maybe she'll do you a favor and give you a less number - if not, it's ok - you have a new friend."
I took Mariana's advice and after the help of my daughter, I have given my scale a name! From the time Stephy was 3 years old she has given her baby dolls the very same name. she told me to name my scale the same! :) I looked up the meaning of the name and it was PERFECT!
Her name is Maddie because it means strength in battle. Losing weight is a battle in itself but with strength, I can win this battle!
