Today has been a very busy work day. I had a meeting at 7am, 9:30am, 10am, 5pm, and in one hour, another at 8pm. This left me no time for either feeding my gather addiction or feeding my face. Unfortunately, it did not leave me time for a workout, either.
The truth is, I take a day or two or three off each week from exercise when I'm not training for any races. I did do 40 pushups (the girly kind) when I got up this morning, and I took, the all-important one-a-day vitamin. I love vitamins....all those nutrients without the calories. But, of course, I realize it's good to get the natural stuff, too.
My pat-myself-on-the-back-moment was at lunch today. We had a work BBQ and there were plenty of goodies, including potato chips, burgers, hot dogs, brats, potato salad, and desserts galore. I contributed cupcakes and didn't have a single one! I didn't even have a slice of that luscious chocolate cake when my co-worker came by and told me he'd made it himself and that it was delicious. (I almost took a slice to be polite, if nothing else, but I resisted.) Picnics and parties....with all that yummy-all-you-can-eat goodness....are my weakness. I had a veggie burger and a small spoonful of potato salad.
Dinner was a bit 'iffy'. I made this low-fat chicken alfredo recipe for my son and myself. It was difficult not to lick my plate, but, again, I resisted.
Woo Hoo! I'm sure I must have lost at least an ounce or two since yesterday!
