Boca vegan burgers: Food review

We were lucky enough to receive an offer for a free boca product.  Before we even got the coupon, I decided to take a look and see what they offered at the commissary on base.  We picked a good day to look!  They didn't have a wide variety of things, but what they had was on sale, and they had a coupon for $2 off 2 Boca products, so we went ahead and picked some up!

On Independence Day, my husband decided to grill the vegan burgers that he had picked out, along with the ribs that we were already planning on having.   My toddler doesn't like ribs, so we were just hoping that he would eat one of the burgers without problems, and luckily he did!  He ate over half of it with no objections at all.  My toddler is somewhat picky, so he must have really liked it.

My husband and I tried them, too, and both agreed that they were ok.  They didn't taste as much like meat as some of the other ones we've tried in the past, but they were pretty close.  The main difference we noticed was that they were drier than the other burgers.  The taste was ok, though.

One thing that we really liked about them was the amount of fiber in them.  My husband struggles to get enough fiber in his diet, so I'm always looking for things that are high fiber that he will actually eat.  These burgers contain 4 grams of fiber each, so they are a great for a quick boost.  They also have 13 grams of protein, and only 70 calories.  They only have .5 gram of fat, with no saturated fat.  They have 6 grams of carbs, and 280 mg of sodium.  They also contain 10% of your daily values for iron, and 6% for  calcium.

While they aren't something that we will be substituting for burgers every time we eat them, they are something that we will probably watch sales on and pick up every once in a while.
