With the cost of food rising, it is becoming more and more expensive to incorporate healthy foods into your diet. So I thought I'd share an an
article by
Brie Cadman that I came across this morning that reveals 20 healthy foods that are all under $1. Suprisingly, there are a lot on this list that I already eat :-)
Here are the 20 the article recommended. I highly recommend reading the whole article because it goes in depth and explains how these are healthy (and cheap) alternatives. They are as follows:
- Oats
- Eggs
- Kale
- Potatoes
- Apples
- Nuts
- Banana's
- Garbanzo Beans
- Broccoli
- Watermelon
- Wild Rice
- Beets
- Butternut Squash
- Whole Grain Pasta
- Sardines
- Spinach
- Tofu
- Lowfat Milk
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Coffee
Which of these do you eat regularly? Can you think of any more you would add to the list?

Unless they mean 1 apple or 1 banana...lol
5 apples, or a bag of apples is 3.99+ for example.
Eggs are 3.99 for a dozen usually, ect.
I will go read the article you mention.
Thanks for the information & link! :-)
I don't eat tofu, butternut squash or sardines.
-lemons--great for alkalizing your body to help prevent disease just by adding fresh lemon juice to water, plus they contain over 20 anti-cancer compounds;
-onions--great source of sulfur compounds that help detoxify the body of harmful substances;
-garlic (fresh)--antibacterial, antifungal, anti-viral--that's a pretty impressive health boost;
-sweet potatoes--full of beta carotene and other valuable phytonutrients; and
-celery--contains over 20 anti-pain and anti-inflammatory compounds.
Thanks again!
