If you're a daughter, you should read this book. If you're a mother, you should read this book. In fact, I would recommend that everyone read this book.
As soon as I received this book and looked at the cover,I knew I would like it. DG Fulford writes of her life since she came home after her dad passed away to take care of her mother. Phyllis Greene,DG's mother, gives you her side at the end of each chapter.
Now DG and I share somethings, like the same maiden name, Greene, and a brother,Bob. So even though she's Jewish and I'm Irish, I felt like I was reading about a long lost branch of my family. DG writes in such a way, that you almost feel like you are sitting there talking to her. And Phyllis, what can you say about Phyllis? She reminds me of moms everywhere.
I felt sad when I finished reading the book. I wanted to know more. I wanted to know how DG's daughter and grandson are. I wanted to know how Phyllis was doing? ANd I wanted to know what color DG's hair is now!
This book really draws you in and you feel that these are people you know. I think that is one of the greatest compliments you can give a writer and DG and Phyllis are two great storytellers!
