Excercise 3
So you've made time to be away or you've decided to go off with a few friends for a weekend of contemplation. How do you start centering down and putting the focus on yourself? When I ran away from home ten years ago I worked with my instincts and intuitions. What I came away with was a blueprint for renewal. It goes something like this:
First you need to actually RETREAT, be alone for a time, preferably in nature where metaphors and lessons abound.
Secondly, you need to REFLECT on your relatives and see just how great your gene pool actually is and then RETRIEVE those genes and bring those strengths and characteristics to the surface so they can begin to work for you.
Thirdly, while away from the mundane you can begin the process of REPAIR, taking better care of your body, paying attention to what you eat, adding a nap to your day as well as serendipitous experiences.
Fourthly, it will become apparent that you need to REGROUP and dump such things as toxic relationships, certain jobs and tasks, attitudes that don't serve you, responsibilities that stem from shoulds. Too much compassion can be a curse.
This process will allow you to regenerate and return new to an old place. It has helped thousands of women who join me for a weekend by the sea and leave renewed.

That is probably my main problem but I don't want to change it. I'll be compassionate with someone until I determine they are not willing to help themselves then I back off.
