Moonshine, Illinois, population 2, is a unique place and quite famous. I had forgotten about it until my son reminded me of the bikers meet in 3 weeks. The bikers have their first meet and run of the year in April and their first stop is Moonshine. It's a little country store run by an elderly couple. They are famous for their Moonburgers. There are picnic benches to sit at inside and many more outside. A little tent room holds condiments. The restroom is an outhouse.
They were featured on CBS Goodmorning once. Their guest book has entries from all 50 states and several foreign countrys. Besides a lot of bike and car traffic sometimes busloads visit there. Last year there were 400 bikers in the run. The year before there were 600. My son dug up the pictures he took last year so I could share them with you.
I've never been there myself but my son says the Moonburgers are well worth the trip. If you find this interesting just google Moonshine, Illinois to see a whole page of entries.

They had the new roof and front on the store last year. Should have the rest done by now.

Lots of orbes in this picture. Well the building IS over a hundred years old.

The condiment tent and some of the outside benches. The house in the background is where the owners live.

They are busy all the time but you can only get Moonburgers from 6:00am to 12:30. After that it's just cold cuts.
