Vacation Essay: On the Way to Ocean City, MD

After we walked the beach, hiked around the Cape May Lighthouse, we hung out under the lighthouse. There is this really cool bird feeder that I called the Bird Feeder Condo. There were several birds all eating at the same time. Never saw one this big ever. Had to take a picture. 

When we got off the ferry from Cape May to Lewes, DE, we had to drive another hour to Ocean City, MD. The ferry ride was long (about 70 minutes) but really pretty.

When we got to OC, we immediately stopped and had dinner at Salvatore's, and then when we drove to our hotel, we saw that Starbucks and Carrabba's were basically right next to our hotel.

We stayed at The Francis Scott Key Family Resort on Ocean Gateway. Great place. A peaceful porch with rockers and a gorgeous garden filled with black eyed daisies, coneflowers, lilies and other beautiful flowers.

Here are some pictures of the flowers. They were so beautiful. So many kinds, so many colors. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch, eating breakfast, drinking coffee, and smelling those incredible lilies. Such a beautiful spot.
