On Saturday, August 29th Marianne R. and Kat W. who is visiting Marianne came over and picked me up for a trip to Ripley's Aquarium here in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We had a beautiful day to go over to Broadway at the Beach where the aquarium is located. After the tour of the aquarium we had lunch at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville and then visited some of the shops at Broadway at the Beach. I hope you'll take a few minutes to check out the photos they've shared too.
In order to share all the fun we had through photo essays, I'll be posting several grouping them by the photos and subject. This photo essay is some of the neat fish we saw at the Ripley's Aquarium. It's not a huge aquarium but it does have a lot of interesting fish and sea life to see and a tunnel you walk through where a large variety of fish swim around in. Now that tourist season is over it wasn't real crowded, but it was crowded enough that many things were hard to get decent photos of. I had to delete about 30 or more photos out of my collection because people walked in front of me or they just came out too blurred to actually be worth viewing. It was very dark in some of the display areas so some photos didn't turn out good at all, not to mention I didn't notice for quite a while that my camera was on the wrong setting because I tried to change it in the dark. But overall I did get some nice pictures. I don't know the names of most of these but they are colorful and interesting.
Here's a shark with some very impressive teeth.

A Sting Ray with a cute smile.

Fish with pretty colors.

These guys are one of my favorites - Sawfish

Horseshoe Crab in a display you could reach into and touch.

Still to come are pretty pictures of sealife other than fish, some sea horses, little gators, frogs and an awesome moray eel. I hope to see you there.

Thank you for posting to Pretty Pictures.
You sure live in a beautiful area, so much to see and do - just clicked over to see this after looking at Mariannes :) I love that smiley fish!
*sigh* I've never been there - we have a very small one in CT, that we went to quite a few times, years ago when our son was younger.
