It was the perfect day to go to the beach. The temperature was about 85 and very hot until we got over the dunes and onto the sand. There was a gentle breeze blowing and combined with the hot sun, it made for a perfect beach day. The water temperature finally hit 80 degrees, which IMHO is just perfect. I'm surprised there weren't more people there considering it was Sunday. There was plenty of room to set up our canopy and relax. There was a threat of rain today, the clouds were dark all around us, but at the beach we were blessed with a beautiful blue sky and white, puffy clouds for most of our visit. Around 3 o'clock it started getting a little dark and cooled off a little but no rain.
There wasn't much to take pictures of but I did notice that parasailing must have started back up this weekend. There were a few different sails up and I managed to get a few photos. I forgot to change my menu setting in my camera for the tele-photo lens, but they still came out pretty good. The kite that someone was flying didn't come out too good but I decided to share it anyway. There are always kites flying on the beach.
No, I've never tried parasailing. With my bum legs I would probably break some bones or dislocate a knee on the landing. It does look like fun though and you can see them every weekend here at the beach.
As you can see, the sky is a little cloudy or slightly overcast. This is one company that takes off from the fishing pier in Myrtle Beach. We are at the Myrtle Beach State Park which is about a half mile South of there.
Looks like a tandem.

To the right of us, about a mile or so away they take you out by boat from the beach.

We have lift-off!

The water was wonderful, calm and warm. The tide was coming in.

There are always kites on the beach. This one was pretty. There was just enough of a breeze to keep it airborne.

The Dunes are always pretty.

DH like to sit out in the sun.

He looks pretty good for 62, doesn't he?
I hope you had a wonderful Sunday too and a good week coming up.

Looks like a wonderful relaxing day. Thanks for posting to Photopoints. And yes he does. ; )
Looks like a great day at the beach. 80 is too warm for water for my taste. I like a bite to it so it actually cools ya off. Nice shots!
Larry does too Marianne. Growing up in NJ, he is used to the low 70's, which doesn't usually happen until August.
Wonderful photos Nana
Nana, you don't have to pass this younger guy off as your DH . Obviously he's not a day over 30 ! Great shots from the beach.
DH thanks you very much for the kind words Phil.
It looks so good. I wish I could go too. Great day for the beach and you took some good photos.
Looks like a great day!!
My family went to myrtle beach when I was a kid, we really enjoyed it.
I've lost all sense of adventure (if I ever had any) over the years, but it looks like great fun
What a perfect day. I've never gone parasailing either...although it always looks like such fun.
Wonderful photo essay! I like Myrtle Beach! The kids loved finding shells and sharks teeth and the sand was so soft. Unlike the rough sand in my area.
The best place to be on a nice warm day, and a perfect spot to place that chair. The water looks a little rough for snorkeling?
Thanks R B. No, not snorkeling here in MB. Just swimming, boating, fishing, and other water sports.
looks like tons of fun!
It does sound and look like a perfect day.
So, dear Nana, what are you doing with this young looking dude?:)
My son is a sky diver and I've thought about a tandem, but at this point I think I'll pass.
Thanks Rose. How do men get better looking as they age?
Fantastic :) I've been parasailing twice... it's a lot of fun; amazing view! Especially when you see the seagulls flying below you...
Great photos!
He looks darn good for 62. OOps sorry got a little stuck on the hubby, lol. The pictures are great Nana. My daughter and son in law are in Colorado with my son vacationing. They just sent me pictures of their parasailing from the top of a mountain out there. They also went on an Alpine slide. They are having a ball out there. We used to go on an Alpine slide in Pennsylvania when the kids were little. Did you ever do that? That is fun and you don't have to worry about bad knees. Take it from someone who has had operations on her knees. It is pretty safe but you feel like you are being adventuresome.
Thanks Carol. No, I've never heard of Alpine slide. We had a place in the Pocono mountains but I don't remember ever coming across anything like that. Maybe they can share some photos with you and you can tell us all about it. I like adventures as long as I can't break any bones. Had enough of that.
Great pictures! I would love to try parasailing, if I could go tandem with someone that knows what they are doing!
Thanks Priscilla. I think the water parasailing is pretty easy, it's the landing that has me concerned. The wind just lifts you up and you are tethered to the boat. When the boat slows down, you come down, slowly, and land in the water and then they pull you in.
It sounds like a great day. I would love to live so close to a beach.
lookkks like a great day at the beach:)
A great day with great temperatures. I'd love the sea water to be in 80s. Lovely pics.
Wonderful Photo Essay Nana
I wish I was there to see it.
Just wonderful.
Great photos
I love to parasail!

Nice photo essay!
Great photo essay! I like to watch the parasailing but I'm not interested in trying it out.
I have really been missing the Ocean... thank you for sharings its Beauty in this lovely essay.
:) wishing you laughter
I hope he is wearing lots of sun block! I can't wait to go to the beach this summer!
Yes, we should by stock in sunblock products;)
what a lovely day
DH looks great. Sounds like a lovely day.
Excellent photos, and yes, he looks great for 62. Glad you had a fun day.
That looks like a heavenly day. Been a long time since I've seen the ocean.
Good lookin' husband! I'd like to try parasailing some day...
These are really cool.
That is so cool i always waned to go parasailing. But i have been scared to go out there with all of the height of being up in the air.
Wow, what an exciting way to spend outdoors. Never been, will have to take your word for how fun it is. Looks amazing. Cool photos.
Nice essay and coolio pix.
That looks like so much fun but I wouldn't be brave enough to try it. Your photo essay is wonderful Nana.
Yeah, that is a good looking dh for him being 62. I am glad that ya'll are both enjoying life and getting to go to the beach so often, I am jealous in fact. I would never try parasailing, first off, I am a clutz, second off, to hit that water would hurt, like alot. I am allergic to pain...LOL!
LOL, I got you Stephanie. There are a lot of things I avoided in life for fear of the pain.
oh man!! i did that in florida a few years ago....you reach a certain height and there are no more sounds......its sooo cool!!!!
Wow! Looks cool! You got some great photos, and hubby does look good for 62!
Nice picture and fun.
looks like a great day at the beach
DH looks great for 62! I've always wanted to try para-sailing. It's on the bucket list!
though cloudy but pics came put fine,Nana.
Cool shots. Love the one of your husband relaxing. The only place I've seen para sailing was in the Caribbean - maybe because I don't get to see an ocean very often.
Nice pics and a fun day at the beach. Thanks for sharing.
One day I should visit, to see the area where I spent my younger years
I bet it's changed a lot since you were here.
Parasailing looks like so much fun...I wonder if I could do it or would I be sitting in a lounge chair next to that cute 62 year old guy. Opps...he's taken.
DH says thanks, he like being surrounded by beautiful women;) so pull up a chair and join him.
Gracious, you tell your hubby he's 62 going on 45!!
Great photo essay and the parasailing is cool, but I'd never do it. My hubby and daddy did it when we were at Panama Beach back in 13 years ago. They did a tandem thing and my daddy was about 64 at the time...me and Momma were a nervous wreck! I have to find a photo of that and scan it in sometimes.
great
Looks like you had a great day.
