The boat is loaded with our gear and groceries, and B-Dawg is waiting for us to hurry up and get in. Yes, that is my blue monster of a suitcase.

B-Dawg and Doug consulting the chart as we set out to the cabin. There are many rocks and shoals to watch out for, and we have to get refreshed on the course. The first time out, it will take us about 40 minutes to get to the cabin, which is in the back of the bay.

Our first view of the cabin, after circling around the channel in front of it. Facing southeast.

Another view of the cabin. After we've hauled everything up the steps, rocks and into the cabin, we settle in. There on the porch you see the air mattress that will be used in the tent, blown up to check for leaks. The bathhouse (with storage room, generator, fridge, and porch with grill on one end) is in the background.

A close-up of the life growing on the rocks

Fishing, or contemplating? Perhaps a bit of both.....

A couple days later, Doug went back to pick up Grandpa and the rest of the boys. Hurray--they're finally here!

Let the fun begin!

Setting up the tent on the tent platform

Sunset, from the porch

I hope you enjoyed your first few days at the cabin! There will be more sights to see.....
