DH and I decided to go for some ice cream at DQ last night since it was such a beautiful evening. The DQ is in a strip mall only a few minutes and has several ponds around on each side of the parking lot. It was too cold inside to eat ice cream so we decided to walk around outside and see what birds might be in the ponds. Luckily I don't go anywhere without a camera, so I went to the car first to grab one and it's a good thing I did.

At the first pond we went too we saw this beautiful heron catching some small fish.

At the next pond there were these two beautiful swans.

As we were admiring the swans this beautiful blue heron came flying by and landed not too far away.
As we looked to our right we were just amazed at this beauty. I immediately put my ice cream down and started clicking away. While I was taking many photos I must have bumped the little dial to the wrong setting, so a lot of my thirty some photos of this gorgeous bird were a mess, but luckily I noticed, eventually and I fixed the settings and took a few more.

The sun was slowly going down which made some of these photos really pretty.

To end the perfect evening we saw this beautiful sunset.

They were all so pretty I couldn't pick just one photo.
What a perfect way to end a day.

I love how the shopping center water retention ponds in MB all have so much wildlife in them. You should see the one behind Lowes. There's a cache back there and I saw all kinds of animals as I walked to it.
Marianne we'll have to check that one out too.
Lindy yes, DH ate most of it, LOL.
How lucky to see all these just hanging out around town.
Nice shots.
Thanks for posting to By The Sea.
