Today -- not only did I got several great shots of our little "neighborhood look-out", the Anna's hummingbird, I also got some cool dragonfly pix! (I'll publish those in a different article a little later...)
Sometimes the way the little Anna's hummingbird follows me around makes me feel like I'm in the middle of an episode of Disney's "Pocahontas" or something... lol...
The upside is that I occasionally get some really GREAT shots of him!
Like these... :o)

They're just amazing, aren't they?... ;o)

Bet you're glad the temperature has dropped.
Two or three every day outside our living room window.
WOW.... The esteemed Mr. Philipp has put in an appearance on MY POSTING!
Gorsh... I am honored beyond measure, Sir! :^D
Truth be told, though, I am one of those REALLY STRANGE 1 in a 1,000,000 people who actually LIKE hot weather, my friend!
I LOVE Mexico in July!
I LOVE the YUCATAN in July!
98-degrees with 98% humidity! Aaaahhhh THAT'S the stuff! :^D
(I know... I'm weird... I've been told... ;o) )
Thank you, Dusty & DrewBerry! I appreciate your supportive words very much!
Well, Sue, it varies... But, today, he lit on a branch in my direct line of sight only about 6 feet away... This particular "hummy" actually hangs out with me a lot when I'm outside... Sometimes it seems like he actually "follows" me -- step for step around the yard -- perching in nearby branches and then "cricketing" (my own pet name for the Anna's calls) at me -- it's almost like he WANTS me to see him!
Thanks so much for posting this to
my group
Hey, Alison, thanks! **jean waves from the south**
Thanks so much, Lisa! He IS adorable, isn't he? ;o)
Lovely pictures!
I wish I would have had my camera with me the other day - there was a doe and two fawns grazing in our neighbors' yard as we were driving home! My other neighbor and I discussed it and we know of at least two does, three fawns and one buck in our little patch of heaven here (there are sixty-ish acres in what we're thinking of here, six acre plots, probably about ten of them).
I have a hummingbird feeder. I got it when a hummingbird came to my kitchen window and just hovered there, looking at me for several minutes. I decided that it was attempting to tell me that it was silly to feed all those other birdies and ignore him....
Speaking of deer, did you see my little photo-essay on "Mrs. Whitetail and her baby"? (It won the Furs Chapter contest... she said modestly...) ;o)
I'll send you a link. :o)
