I know going back to work is just a bummer for you working stiffs, so maybe we can cheer the day for you a bit, with our witty repartee (how's that for wishful thinking?). We, of course, have nothing better to do, having been forcibly culled from your fold, and put out to pasture early. Well, I have, not the Budster. He should be, though, and I'm beginning to wonder if he's ever going to get his leg back working right. He does a lot better, but limps bad after nappage, and if you put pressure on his back, towards his tail, he can't hold the weight, that leg just folds on him.
I'm going to make another appointment with the vet, after the first (when our fundage comes in). I don't have time to nursemaid him right now, though, so will probably try to put any corrective surgery off till late summer, or fall. If that would have no negative effects, anyway. If it has to be now, it will, of course. The yard and garden can go to hell if it means a better shot at his total recovery. I would be very happy if I never had to lift him up on the couch, ever again, as he habitually finds excuses, and jumps down, and then wants me to lift him up again. Drink of water, suspected intruder, it's always something. Sometimes I suspect it's a game to him. See how many times you can screw with the BUG, before his head explodes..... and no I don't THINK he's doing it on purpose, I know so, the little flea colony (not really, the collar we got him works magnificently, it's just an image he tries to project)
Well, it's not raining anymore, and we're actually supposed to get some sun this afternoon, and tomorrow, but the temps have dropped a little again, highs in the seventies today, and the ground is totally saturated. Not conducive to digging or planting, till it dries out for a day or two, which, coincidentally, is when we're slated to get more rain, lol. It never fails. Well, if it dries out any at all, which with our sandy soil, may happen, just enough, we might sneak a bit of work in tomorrow afternoon, but I know that's a big if. We got positively dumped on, last night. Ferocious lightning and thunder here, as well. Had Buddy near in my lap most of the evening. None of the dangerous severe weather, except the lightning, here, though, all South of us this time. I don't mind not contemplating tornadoeage, as I have no basement in this double wide piece of...... Now, now, I have to remember that I love where I live, if not what I live in. That's an important thought to remember, Ron.
According to my bro, who checked their site, our little gift of pittance from the government isn't slated to get to us, till August, so I'm not sweating the lack of opportunity to spread the reflective gunk, I guess. The problem with that, of course, is that I'll be in debt for the month, if not two, of $400 plus electric bills by then. You're damned if you do, and damned if you don't when you draw our luck, it seems. If Buddy's leg was good, he'd be roofage bound, though, lol. Not sure how he'd look as a roofer, with bandanna and baggy pants....
Poor Buddy, I always joke about his little butt, but he's a really good little dog, and I want people to know that about him. It's just that he aspires so hard to be human, that he's adopted a few undesirable human traits. I blame the idiots on the political boards he reads, entirely, lol. He learned the dishonesty, back stabbing, obstreperousness, and delusion in the face of irrefutable arguments to the contrary, entirely from those guys. I won't name any names here, because I suspect a few read the sagas, daily, ever ready to throw a one or a flag, it's so sad....lol. I'm kidding, of course, he has none of those traits, he's a trusting, wonderful friend..... must.....resist.....Budster.....mind.....cuntrul..... Looks like I'll have to do what those guys always accused me of, and make myself a tin foil hat, not for them, mind you , but to discourage this little curs attempts to get me to lie about him. Bad dog, bad.....wonderful, cute little......CUT THAT OUT!!!! Whew, that's never fun, damned dog. I always want to chew on something leather, after he's been in my skull a while. Not to mention the strong urge to pee on the carpet.....
Well, I suppose I could go out and work on all those tree limbs, but that depends on chain saw cooperation. After getting one to run this Spring, and cranking on the other, it took two days, almost, to get back where I could use my left arm, so not forcing it this time. If it starts, it starts, and if not, we aren't either. A tune up is in store for my big one, when the money is available, and hopefully the little one won't need one. Either way, our acreage is the end of the line here, and other than the guy to the North, who has his own eyesore issues of late, we aren't bothering anybody. Our pace is entirely up to us. That's a recipe, of course, for nothing getting done, lol. I seem to still be gumption challenged. I wonder if I have some kind of bug, or if the bug is just my age and physical condition after a long Winter of goofing off. Whatever it is, I'm having a hell of a time laughing it off, and yes I'm taking my pills. I'm nursing a rather insistant mini headache here, as well, so that may affect our chances of productive results a bit, too.
Well, the sun is already out, and the day is a wasting. We probably will be too, if I know us, but we're going to at least make a feint at it. Hope your Monday/Tuesday is a great one, and - Till next time, Ron & Buddy.

I'm with you on the mini-headache. We are sitting in a warm front about ready to crash into a cold front. Our temps are supposed to drop and storms are headed our way again later in the day. It is 73 now, but going to go up for a while and then drop fast I guess. Thus, my little headache explanation.
Hate to tell you, but fixing the leg might not fix the lazy dog problem. My bed is tall, but the beagle is perfectly capable of jumping up on it...if she wants. She also is very good at coming to my side (hubby won't fall for it) and hitting me with a paw until I lift her up. Of course, tick season is doesn't get the invitation. It isn't because she is injured, or old...she's just a spoiled brat. Not that you'd know anything about spoiled dogs:)
So far, we've only seen 1 tick, and it wasn't on the dog. We are bathing her with flea/tick soap every weekend.
Today is the me not doing anything day. Was going to go to the store and the bank, but my toe is infected, so walking is not a great idea. Will probably just call and make an appointment with the foot doctor. It seems it's inevitable that I will have the minor, painful, procedures I've been side stepping (sorry, couldnt resist the pun) for so long.
Then I'll play on the puter for a while, read and maybe make some cookies later.
Have fun in the yard.
Get/build him one of those little staircases for the couch.
Tell him to stay out of your head. This sounds kinky. "I always want to chew on something leather, after he's been in my skull a while." I don't even want to discuss peeing on the carpet. I don't know how I'm going to get that image out of my head.
Tel the Budster good luck at the vet. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for him...
Thanks, he'll be OK, one way or the other, whatever we have to do. I promised him, and I keep my promises to my furry son.
LOL, yeah, that thought had passed through my mind, Gerald.....
Okay, Buddy...fess up...are you just looking for a little extra 'tention?? Don't blame you there...
