We recently returned from a trip to Augusta Georgia. While there we checked out their Botanical Gardens. They are free to the public and have some very scenic areas. We really enjoyed the hours we spent there and plan on going back in August.

At the entrance this rose bush was the first bush we saw It was loaded with roses. It was quite fragrant and beautiful. My roses never look like this. I am lucky to get 5 or 6 blooms.

The botanical garden used to have a lot of golf related stuff some of the remnants of this time was the large golf balls by the children's garden. My son enjoyed posing with it.

Some beautiful flowers we saw while we were there. Everything was in full bloom. It was the perfect time to go see these beautiful gardens.

There were many fish and turtles in this pond. When you would get close the turtles would hop down off the rocks and go for a swim...

Another Pond that was inside the gardens. It was very serene and you could hear the fresh water trickling down from a small waterfall. It was quite nice.

This was the large waterfall. Their were several tiers and it was quite beautiful.

My son taking in the beauty of nature. He really loved seeing the turtles and fish swimming about. He was looking down in the water for more animals...

This was my moms favorite. In the south they call it a snow ball tree. It looks like white fluffy snow balls. I believe it is related to the hydrangea. It is quite beautiful as you can see.

Palmetto trees... several growing together. I thought they looked really neat. I miss the way they look. They make it look tropical. I grew up having them around and miss them. They are South Carolina's state tree and they are on the South Carolina state flag. Augusta Georgia is right across the river from South Carolina.

There were roses all around these trellises. They were beautiful. You can not see how many there were by this picture but there were about a hundred rose bushes. This was a great place to rest and reflect. It was beautiful and serene. There were a few people there the day we were but there were no crowds. It is definitely worth seeing if you are ever in downtown historic Augusta Georgia.
There are picnic tables so you can take your family and pack a picnic. So if you get the chance go enjoy some quality time with your loved ones....

I loved the snow ball tree, reminds me of my grandma. We had a glorious bush but I have never been able to find one anywhere to plant. I think I'll print out your picture and see if I can get one thru the local nurseries and find out if they survive in Florida.
Arlene,
Federal Way flowers
Blessings always...
