Well, today was the first day in three days that it wasn't cloudy or raining and I went outside to look at my plants to see what was blooming. Why don't you come along? :o)
First, I found my hanging fuschia in bloom:
Next, I noticed that my "Blackjack" miniature "black" rose was budded:
As the "Blackjack" blooms out, the outer edges of the petals turn black. It almost looks as if someone has "burned" them. It's actually prettier in bud stage...
Of course I couldn't overlook my bird of paradise:
My "49er" hybid tea rose was also budded:
Or my little miniature yellow rose:
And my miniature "Abraham Lincoln" rose was just FULL of buds!
I just LOVE this time of year, don't YOU? :o)

Today was truly our FIRST spring day here in Washington........YAY!
I don't think I could grow bird of paradise here, and it is such a neat flower!
Your roses look lovely Jean. I have a hell of a time with my roses in Florida - gave up except for an occasional try.
I love all the rose colors - but where's the pink and the white?
Your fuchsia looks great too. I had one a friend gave me and I killed it. Neglect in the summer will do that.
Thanks for posting to All Photo Essays Here @ allphotoessays.gather.com!
Good for YOU, Alison! Yaaaaaaayyyy!!!
Thanks so much, Bonnie & Barbara!
Well, Lisa... I dunno 'bout that... You might be able to get away with keeping it in a container and bringing it in in the worst part of winter... OR you could "mulch" or cover it in some way... maybe... :o)
Thanks, Jennifer!
Rose... I already published an article a few days ago with some of the pink ones in it:
Spring in Sonoma County
Fuschias are rather difficult in hot areas... I've lost 2 since I moved here... :^(
Thanks so much, Victoria! Glad you enjoy looking at the "bird's" pix! ;o)
Yep, Tinch... It was pretty warm here, too... not THAT hot, of course... But it made up for the last 3 days of rain and clouds -- well... SORT of... ;o)
HA HA HA HA!
I bet you could try it. You're obviously better with plants than I am.
Oh - did I tell you I've planted a wisteria?
I'd love it if you would post this to my group for all things to do with nature, animals, and pets!.
I will endeavor to do that, Nana, thanks for the invite!
Thank you as always for your kind words of encouragement, ee... :o)
I love the ones with the black.
Thanks Jean.
And, you, too, Jodie! :o)
