The following is a very small representation of how I am enjoying the coming in of spring. The Iris (Iris germanica) was one of my mother's favorite flowers, the purple ones are my personal favorites. Whenever I see an Iris, I think fondly of my mother, who passed away in 1985. (Not to grieve now, viewers, she still drops in from the other side to say hi, now and again.) The sun was setting on the day I took these shots, and its rays were shining through the petals, allowing me to catch some very beautiful macros. (Camera Used: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8)

Thanks everyone!
Thanks.
Gorgeous
Susan, as a fellow purple lover, you'll enjoy this collage, too: Image by Kate Keeley
Thank you so much for the high compliment, Margo.
Thanks, Elsie, I'm so glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for the kind comment.
I know, Tinch. I can actually get them to last longer if I cut them and keep them in fresh water w/a bit of sugar or 7-up in the water; trimming the stem a little bit each day.
Yes, Sherrie, I think it's the 'neatest'!!
your mom and I share a love for the Iris. And my favorite is also purple!
I believe your mom does drop in to say hi from time to time. And I believe that I can see her as the ray of sunshine that kissed these gorgeous flowers in your photo!
Bummer, Sheila. I'm going to keep hoping they bloom.
Sue, that is an absolutely lovely sentiment about my mother. Thank you.
Tanya, very nice. Liked the story and the pictures.
