I am at two and a half weeks. I haven't had candy for three. I am keeping my carbs way low. Even below the 20 allowed. I seem to be stuck between 9 and 10 pounds. I haven't really lost anything for about 4 days. NOT FAIR! I have to admit that I haven't been walking because there has been so much going on that I just get up and the day is over before I know it. Somehow I need to find the time for it.
My big goal is to lose 50 lbs by September. I plan to do it with little goals. My first goal is to get down under 210. That means about another pound or two, so it is within reach. Then my next goal is to get under 200. Anybody got any tips for breaking through this plateau?

and drink lots of water
Well, I just went down an did a half hour on the treadmill. I have to admit, it wasn't so bad. Now I need to hurry and get a bunch of stuff done so we can go out to dinner with my daughter and son-in-law.
My suggestion is to schedule in work out time. I did and now my husband knows 30 minutes of time are workout time no matter what else is happening that day. I try to do 60 minutes every day, but some days that isn't happening now.
The scale is the least reliable source of information regarding fat loss. Take your measurements with a tape measure once a week to see if you are losing inches. If you are, it means that your fat cells are shrinking and the scale is bound to catch up eventually, assuming you are doing Atkins properly.
Here is a check list;
Are you drinking all your water?
Eating all your veggies? You should be consuming at least 12-15 net carbs a day coming from veggies.
Do a spot check on calorie consumption at www.fitday.com. Make sure you are not consuming too few or too many calories. Plan for between 1500 to 1800 calories daily. Too few as well as too many can retard weight loss. No need to count on a daily basis, just do a spot check.
Also move your body. Any activity will help burn more calories.
Before you get discouraged and lose your commitment to long-term healthy eating habits, understand that plateaus occur in any slimming-down process. Stick with the program and your weight loss will kick in again. You may stay at one weight for a month, then suddenly drop three pounds.
Also be sure to move through the phases to find your carbohydrate tolerance. If you stay beneath that level you will never gain the weight back.
The other thing I noticed about the way my brain works - is if I step on the scale daily I get discouraged so now I step on it once a week only - it's amazing. Without the daily discouragement I can stick to it and I do lose.
Keep up the good work!

A lady last week gave me a look that told you quickly she thought I had fake ones. I really feel thin walking into the store. Have a great Sunday.

No candy, ice cream or soda and I'm gaining weight sadly. I didn't think I could gain weight eating the right foods, so clearly I'm eating to much food.
Don't you hate the struggle?
Do you have any source for the powder shake mixes? They seem to be off the market.
