Why Palin?

Sounds reasonable to me, lol.

That first reason is why I am against alot of Palin supporters. Not because she is a women. Personally I would much rather have Hillary than Obama. The reason that one bothers me is that it is listed as a primary reason for voting for her by many die hard supporters. Race and gender shouldnt have a thing to do with it!

i'm with bryan . . . i don't think anyone should vote on a candidate based on their sex . . . however, i, too, would have preferred hillary over obama any day!

She is so down to earth that the elitists don't know how to talk to her, nor do they know how to respond to what she says when she talks like that. It is refreshing. Someone with an honest mouth for a change - on my - what in the world would we do? LOL But, seriously, why Palin? She's so conservative, that it makes my heart sing. I LOVE that. She speaks her mind and knows how to take people on - a girl after my own heart. I do that. Wow - someone like a normal main street person. That's so fantastic, and unbelievable, and she will be a heartbeat away from the presidency - how awesome!

I agree totally. But that is why she was picked. Obama should have done the same. In a perfect world, gender and race shouldn't matter, but over the last 200 years it mattered plenty.

I believe getting the focus off McCain and policy is one of the main reasons she was chosen. It is unlikely a man would have accomplished this, hence a woman. There are other GOP women who are eminently more qualified for VP or President -- but, again, they would not have been the distraction.

Deloris, there is another gal I respect much more, and she DOES happen to be from Montana. She drove her car all the way from your great state to ours to serve as an Obama field organizers here in Pennsylvania! I think I would agree with the first few words of your assessment of Palin, but strike the last word: "She is very good at getting what she wants" See the investigative report in the New York Times. It's very revealing about how she would govern and what her "experience" actually amounts to. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I love the fact that she is such a real person. She isn't a polished Washington insider but a real person who knows what it is like to live here in the US for the rest of us.
I like that she rose up through the ranks starting with the PTA, always seeing a need and believing that she could make a difference and then she did.

I know plenty of women who are infinitely more qualified to run on the ticket with McCain and her being chosen over the other women who have put in their dues in the political arena is an affront - in my personal opinion - but then again, her selection doesn't seem to be based on qualificiations.

Other than possessing the same sexual organs, I find little else in common with Gov. Palin.

Like Stacey I am ashamed that this whole Palin campaign was not some sort of sick joke. I keep waiting for McCain to step out on stage and yell, "gotcha" or something. There are women in my neighborhood groups who would put Palin to shame if they had a naional audience. To read some of the comments one would think this woman is great or has the bar been dropped so low it lays on the ground. This is folly and I want to meet some of these people who call her a "real " person. I suppose all the people I know and have met are false. How shameful.

Palin certainly gave Obama's *change* motto a new perspective! I've said for the past 16 years, "give us a candidate who has 5 kids, can balance his own checkbook and stay loyal to his wife" and he's got my vote. Little did I know that *he* would turn out to be a *she!*

You can't play the inexperience card with Palin. She is one of the most popular Governor's in the US, has an 80% approval rate (unheard of), took on her own party and BIG oil companies, is in charge of the National Guard, has hands on experience in Energy (pipeline), has a balanced budget (and a surplus), gave money back to the taxpayers, has an incredible work ethic, cleaned house (removes morons from office), shows up to vote and replaced a jet with a small plane.

So where is McCains poor choice? Not only is she EXACTLY what is needed to shake up and reform Washington, she has MORE experience than Presidential candidate Obama. Do we want change or more of the same??? What's Obama's claim to fame (accomplishments)? What has he run? What about Biden's 36 yr history? {{{yawn}}} Nice guy but still offers more of the same.

I highly doubt anyone from a neighborhood group could have outshined her during her speech or debate. She has a certain charisma that connects with people. She is a breath of fresh air.

I watched Hannity tonight and found out that Palin’s ancestors include; Roosevelt and Princess Diana (10th cousin). No wonder people love her.

FYI - Definition of REAL: genuine; not counterfeit, artificial, or imitation.
I consider people like Barney Frank, Paulson, Dodd, Ayers, Raines, French, etc. *counterfeits.* Palin is genuine...the real deal.
