I was watching the 11 o'clock news tonight and it really is sad how desperate people are getting in their efforts to afford gas. People are reportedly begining to siphon gas from boats around our area (we live near a lake). Many boat owners are reporting that they recently filled their tanks, and end up running empty while on the water.
Another especially sad story, is that a woman was arrested for prostitution when she agreed to exchange her services for a gas card. People are really getting desperate.
The average price for gas here in SC is 3.88 with the national average being 4.09. Whats gas like in your area? Also, what changes are you making to save gas or pay less for gas?

Hope you have a nice holiday weekend anyway!!
Pretty bad--but I've found that Gaviscon helps a lot.
Sinces he teaches he is off for the summer and doesn't have to drive into the "office". But we only live 5 minutes (less than 2 miles) from campus so no big deal anyway.
We also take advantage or our local grocer's fuel perks and save 10 cents a gallon for every $50 at the grocery store. So Usually when I fill my car up I get anywhere from 40 to $1.00 off a gallon.
And since our grocery store sells gift cards for other retailers we can purchase the gift cards and get even more cents off.
There was one time (before gas got to be $3.50 even) that we were able to fill my take up for less than $1 a gallon. Yeah it felt like lwe had gon back to the 80s.
If you can't afford the gas to get to that minimum wage job you finally found across town , what are you supposed to do?????
Pretty bad--but I've found that Gaviscon helps a lot. (LOL!)
There are some people that do stupid things for gas, even risking life or arrest. Right now, here it's $3.98.
Seriously, it is a shame things are coming to this. I even heard of people stealing license plates, pumping gas, leaving then the original owner is getting blamed for it and has to pay.
Thanks for understanding Tiffany
The girl across the street had her gas tank filled with sand...lovely, huh?
I am originally from North Augusta SC by the way.

My hubby just bought a bicycle today to ride to work 4 out of 5 days a week to save money on gas. He needs the exercise anyway so it wasn't a big ordeal for us to do it. And, we'll be saving a tone of money
