I Voted for a Muslim to Represent Me

My 5th district (Minneapolis and a bunch of surrounding suburbs) Representative in Washington D.C. is Keith Ellison, and one unusual thing about him (other than he doesn't have perfect teeth - how do you get elected without perfect teeth??? !!!) is that he is a Muslim.

Efforts to paint him as a terrorist didn't work, during the election.  He's just not like that.  He's all for gay marriage.  I saw him on TV speaking in a local Muslim community center and he was telling them, "You don't like it if people are prejudiced against you so don't you be prejudiced against gay people".

Now he's working on a Credit Card Holder Bill Of Rights,  since in these last few years credit card companies have changed the rules again and again to their own advantage so that now they are all about as good as loan sharks.

He's also working on a G.I Bill so that veterans get a four year college education.
