Antibiotics in our food supply is one day going to lead to huge health problems, even if you don’t consume it. Some professional medical and health safety groups are all ready setting off the alarm bell.
Since the late 1930’s we have been living in what some scientist call the "Age of Antibiotics" In 1937 both of my mother’s parents died two weeks apart from what is now considered a common kidney infection. Then there were no real antibiotics available. The doctor said years later. If they had come down with just two years later, he could have given them the new sulfur based drugs and the infection would have been gone in a few days.
Today we are beginning to see antibiotic resistant germs. They are finding new ones everyday. Not since the begging of antibiotics has this been seen so often. You would think it was because we have used them to kill infection for so long, the germs have learned to mutate and survive. This is only a small part of the problem. If human medical use was the only reason, the mutations and the severity who change at a far different pace and not so drastically.
The main culprit is food. The "hospital bug" which has become so common is showing up when exposure to the hospital environment has not been involved. For years we have thought it was the sole source and the reason was over use of antibiotic medication.
But now with antibiotic resistance showing up outside the hospital environment, scientist are determining a more shocking and drastic cause.
Since the industrialization of agriculture after the great depression, antibiotics we found top be of great use in raising cattle, poultry and beef. It took until the corporatization of the farming industry and for companies like Con-Agra to form before it really became a problem. The industrial farm operation is dependant on raising the maximum number of animals in the smallest space possible. This creates infection and disease in animals. By industrialization of the food supply, a greater need arose for animals to survive such conditions and gain weight at a higher rate.
The agricultural industry found a way to make money in supplying products to the operators that would address these issues. One of the most effective way to raise animals in a unhealthy environment, is to give them antibiotics. It was easily incorporated into industrial feed. Animals on a constant supply of antibiotics tend to gain weight faster.. They didn’t care about the long term effects because these animals are designed to be slaughter and processed before they were very old. These animal sluff off some of these antibiotics thru urine and manure. There by allowing it to leach into the soil and water supply.
If you have been eating food in the US for very long, you have consumed the residual from those antibiotics for years. The hospitals have served this food to patients with open sores and wounds and damaged immune systems. I think that is why serious antibiotic resistance was found there. Now visitors, patients, staff have carried those mutated germs outside the hospital and germs which have not been in the hospital are developing resistance due to the antibiotics in our systems.
Medical groups are now warning that drug resistance has started to reach the epidemic stage in America. We are slowly moving into an era where antibiotics are going to become a thing of the past and we have nothing to replace them with.
This means millions of people wills tart to die from common infections and bacteria which we cannot treat. Children and the aged will be the first go.
There are little if any governmental controls on animal use of antibiotics. Con-Agra and other multi-national Agricultural organizations are lobbying hard against them. They and trade organizations are creating tons of propaganda to kill the American will and to confuse people in order to still make a profit from their use.
For the sake of you and your kids and grandkids and all to come after us… please get active, read up on the issue and don’t swallow what these people tell you. Let not business propaganda cause suffering and death.. if you think the health care propaganda is damaging, wait till the problems from this type of misinformation catch up to us all.

Our pro-business news organizations are not going to mention this, it is in direct opposition to factory farms and pill pushing pharmaceutical companies.

Find the free range grown chicken and eggs, find the grass fed organic beef.
Yes it costs more. You have been eating too much anyway.
Fill up on organic lettuce, you only need a limited number grams of protein per day to be really healthy.
A good free range chicken will not be as large as a factory bird. They should be a different breed than the factory bird. Free range eggs will always have an orange collored yoke. A free range bird should also cost at least $8.00 or more, if they dont, I woudl be careful.
Buy all your vegetables from small farms or at least at local fruit and vegitable markets in season, then freeze them for use out of season.
In a lot of major cities there are "community based farm" groups, where you can arrange to get all yoru fruits and vegetables from a farmer near that city.. often times they will deliver.

Buy yoru ground meat from the place that grinds it, never buy "frozen" ground meat.
