So I just got finished watching this video, and I was bawling by the end of it. Seriously!
And I tried uploading it to Gather.com but it's not working. So I'm linking to my blog, which did post the video successfully. Please watch the video, and then sign the petition.
I think this really shows the human impact of all of these anti-marriage equality campaigns. There was one campaign where The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints created an advert (which is posted on YouTube) that states:
"Proposition 8 defines marriage as only between a man and a woman. Gay couples lose NONE of their rights and privileges."
I think that the "Fidelity" video pretty much shows just how wrong that statement is. All of the images in the video are of some of the 18,000+ gay couples in California who were legally married in California and have since had their rights and privileges taken away due to the passage of Proposition 8. Some of these images are heartbreaking (like the couples holding up signs who have been together >30+ years and are asking not to be divorced by Prop 8). Talk about tugging at your heart-strings!
So please, sign this petition, letter, whatever it is that you want to call it, to let the California State Supreme Court know that this is an issue that affects people's lives, that this is an issue about equality, about civil rights, and the fundamental right to marry that cannot be overturned by hatred, bigotry, and ignorance.

Everyone should have the rights to love who they want to love and in doing so, have the same rights men and women have when they marry.
There WILL be equal rights for the gay population in my lifetime. I'm sure of it. As the video says at the end: Love Will Prevail.
I totally agree, thank for the post
