"Exuberance"
Nature's shading its easel with wintry hues;
Using colors that glint among its sly ruse.
Chocolate brown cattails are frozen in ice,
While shiny green pines gleam with snow-colored whites.
Red berries veneered in smooth satin sheens
Garnish prickly leaves on small evergreens.
Glistening snowflakes collide then silently burst
From an exuberance of presence never rehearsed.
As birds overhead glide higher in awe
Of finding the source of this alluring snowfall,
Soft breezes waft by with a crystalline prism
Shaping my thoughts into renewed optimism.

Love and hugs in great abundance - S.
It is a lovely day here. Heavy snowflakes have been falling intermittently as of noon today, with temperatures fluctuating between 20 and 30 degrees. The beauty of the snowflakes have been wonderfully inspirational, and have created my inspiration for this writing. Much love I send you way... you grow more dear to me every day! ;-)
ExHuberance?!

Thank you for your lovely comments, Autumn. I appreciate, too, your letting me know to which lines you were most drawn; and I must say, my dear, you chose the very ones
I enjoyed writing the most, especially the cattail line. Love to you...

I love your descriptive comments... "fat with texture, wild with color and bursting with life--even the frozen variety"--only 'you' could have expressed that so charmingly. Thank you and God Bless.
